FYI, punch comes from the Persian word "panj" meaning five. Also, panjeh means your five fingers or to punch somebody. Indian language borrowed this word from Persian language. In this way, one from a non-native speaking country would learn how you respond to the conversation. Like in a movie they are just talking to each other informally in their native english.
