Lyrics. Sometimes these memories pull us under We get lost talking, days gone by But we're not getting any younger Now it feels like real life has dragged us in its tide So we stay awake Like we always do And we try to recreate And when nothing's changed And I'm next to you It doesn't feel the same I would never change what our past is Written in our bones, it's who we are I just can't control where my mind goes When it goes too far So we stay awake Like we always do And we try to recreate And when nothing's changed And I'm next to you It doesn't feel the same Does it matter if we change Does it matter at all Don't you worry about me, friend Don't you worry at all Does it matter if we change Does it matter at all Don't you worry about me, friend Don't you worry if it doesn't feel the same It doesn't feel the same It doesn't feel the same (It doesn't feel the same) (Feel the same) (Feel the same)

@michaeldiep44412 жыл бұрын
What an amazing song. It's incredible how interpretive music can be and how a song from the past can resonate with people today depending on where they are in life. Case in point: when I first heard this song, I thought it was just a bop. Sounds cool, that was all. Listening to it again today I nearly cried. All that nostalgia, nothing feeling quite the same as before, it all catches up. I strive to move forward every day, yet I also get sad remembering days gone by. Days of blissful ignorance, when everything seemed like it was going to be just fine. Considering how bleak our future seems if you understand the ecological crisis that we're entering, this song resonates with me more today than it ever has before. Heck, besides global warming, it feels like I'll never be able to afford my own place to live. These thoughts have been making it hard to sleep lately and so I've filled the void with hobbies and other things I like doing. In the end, however, I just wish I could just experience the simplicity of my youth. But things will never be the same.

I remember last September, I decided to download Madeon's Adventure after I fell in love with Finale during April, and eventually Ok and Beings near the end of the summer. I just remember being really caught up with how catchy each of the songs are, especially songs like Zephyr and You're On. Because I listened to the album so heavily, I associate the music with that time of my life. I just remember feeling all the excitement of going to grade 12 and taking on new challenges - it was an extremely fun year to start up, and it continued like that too. I was never really an academic person, but my grades skyrocketed during this year because I was driven to do well. My friends were super supportive, and they were always physically there by my side. We had our fun antics, and our serious studious times. Now I'm here, first year university student. I'm alone in a school that I hate (transferring out). My friends are still supportive, but they're not physically by my side like they were last year. So when I hear some of these lyrics (my interpretation of this song is about unsuccessfully recreating the past/yearning for the past), I get a strong emotional reaction. I miss them, and I miss the way things were last year. Everything this year is going downhill for me (except my grades, thank god). It's odd to think about. I initially fell in love with Madeon's songs due to how pleasing they were(and still are) to my ears. But now, I love them because I feel the lyrics, and because they take me back. It's funny. You usually don't expect typical electronic songs to invoke emotional reactions, but it goes to show what Madeon is like. He's not a typical electronic musician. He's more than that!

I made a comment on this abt 3 years ago asking if anyone had heard this from a video game because it sounded so nostalgic to me and I thought I had to have heard it from somewhere. I'm coming back to say that that was never the case. I don't think I've ever heard this song before the day I commented, but the reason I felt nostalgic to it is because this has been my life for a while. I was an extremely creative kid, and to this day I love to draw and make stories. I always look back fondly at the stories I made when I was young, the ones that made little to no sense but were still endearing and had a fairly stable world built around it. Every once and a while, I remember these old stories and try to recreate them in a way that maintained their original charm, but of course made a little more sense. This song sounds like it's about just that; someone who doesn't want to change the past, but rather recreate it in a way that'll make them feel like they're still in it. Like they're still young and dumb, but creative and happy with what they do. I still integrate my old characters, worlds, and their stories into the ones I make today, because they're special to me and represent a time where I was more carefree, and in some ways maybe even more creative than I am now. But even then, even with the wishes and attempts to recreate the past, the song's end contains the phrases "Doesn't matter if we change" and "Don't you worry if it doesn't feel the same". I feel like change being inevitable is a fact that some people with a similar take on life can't deal with, but then there are some people, people like the song's narrator and me, who have accepted this. We can recreate the past all we want, but time keeps moving, and that's ok. In fact, I look forward to my future more than anything, because it means I can do the thing my past self always wanted to do; share my dumb little stories to the whole world. We recreate the past, but we use it to take it into our futures, and THAT'S why this song hit me the way it did all that time ago.

This song is so 2018 even though it came out in 2015. Like the sound you’d use for an Instagram edit back then. I miss those times so much, when I was just 13. I‘m literally 19 now, like wtf. I‘m close to my 20s.

This song kind of describe a person who ended a relationship with someone and got a new bf/gf but the love doesn't feel the same like the previous relationship and gets throwback how they had it with the previous person.
@RealtremilCH28 жыл бұрын
That's one way to look at it. Another way is that a couple that has been together for a long time is slowly losing the passion it had in the beginning. They are desperately trying to continue based off of the memories and good times but they come to the conclusion that it isn't how it used to be. They do the same things that made them happy to be together earlier in the relationship but as they grew older and life happened, as it does, they grew apart emotionally.

xDarkDreams lmao it's art it can be interpreted in many ways that's the beauty of it, I see it more as a person passing away, missing them and the memories they had. it doesn't feel the same, and at the songs bridge it's sounds like heaven angels you know, it can be seen anyway 😊I

I dont know why but this song makes me think about derealization (where you feel like you are not alive, detached from yourself, or when you believe your surroundings are fake) it makes you think in different ways and you basically stay awake because you feel dead and you want to stay sane when at any moment you feel like breaking down
