Great video! Brought back memories for me. I was there in 2012 running a race called Fuego y Agua 50k. Maderas is truly one of the best adventures of my life.

Parts of the trail up to the volcano looked more like an obstacle course. You have a very enjoyable videography style, it gives your viewer the feeling of being along for the journey.

Hey Lisa thanks!! Yeah it was SUPER muddy and slippery. But we got lucky with clear skies :) Thanks for watching and the nice comment.

Man 'Picture Postcard' views, just jaw droppingly gorgeous scenes on this video, I really like that you give a plug to the locals you're meeting, I hope this can generate some business, Jameel didn't look out of breath whatsoever!! You all must be super fit, I think I'd be as slow as a Tortuga going uphill... Loved that trek, must be such a big achievement for you too Greg, well done to you both!!

Hi Thom, we hiked from Santa Cruz right at the base. This is also where we stayed to make sure the early morning start wasn't too hard.

Hey I'm tryna do hike one of these days as I'm staying in ometepe which hostel or where did you find the local guide.
@2mooch7 жыл бұрын
I've heard this is the easier of the two hikes...is it a steady climb or really steep...just want to know what I'm in for. Thanks!
@gregorsnell7 жыл бұрын
Yeah we thought it was the easier as well. I've actually done Concepcion as well, but it was like ten years ago so my memory is a bit off. Either way, if it's raining both will be hard. The big plus about Maderas is the lake at the top and also it doesn't have that Sombrero Hat Cloud on it all the time. You'll see from this video how tough it was for us that day though. Slippery and muddy, but well worth the effort :) Have fun and let us know when you're done.

Cool videos but I have one comment, the music is way too loud when compared to your voices, it's a bit annoying to have to play with my volume at each transition. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Hey man thanks for the tip. That could be a bit of an issue with my editing headphone playback. I did notice something similar in a recent edit, I'll keep my ears open going forward. Glad you dig the video though man.

Hi Greg, super video ! I'm Luca, a french journalist, working for a website called Jetlag (www.demotivateur.fr/jetlag). With the team, we would like to edit a short video about this amazing Ometepe Island, and more precisely about the two "Volcanos twins" and we loved your video, some images are really cool ! I would like to know if I can use some parts of your video to create a short film/video about this strange statue and post it on our page and social network ? Of course, you will be credited on screen and tag on it. Cheers !
