Extra-ordinary concert. Guru Sri TVG - what an inspiration. What a delight to see him enjoy the Thani and the total humility, part relief, part surprise, part delight acknowledgement of the applause at the end of the Thani with Ghatam Sri Suresh. Sashtanga namaskarams to the Living Legend. 🙏🙏

Kunnakudi Balamuralikrishna is easily the most knowledgeable musician of his cohort. and his knowledge seems to come from summoning the raga devata at will, worshipping her/him, engaging in playful interludes with her/him and respectfully returning her/him to their abode by which time other raga devatas are queuing up asking to be invited.. Sri Varadhu was saying hi to the devatas whenever he turned to his side and nodded his head..

Veteran Mridangam Vidwan shri. Gopalakrishnan was rather feeling uncomfortable with placing the Mtidangam on the foot because of old age. He was changing position. I feel one should begraceful to retire when the body does not yield as one is/was young. One should gracefully retire when the goung is good
@mattkurb728Ай бұрын
he is younger in his ability and lucid mind than any of us put together. this is truly inspiring. its a shame when people choose to be negative at any age!
@venkyvenkatesan6419Ай бұрын
Even if Sri. TVG may have some physical limitations due to age (92 years?), his adaptability and technique more than make up for it. His ability to communicate the essence of the mridangam through clarity of strokes, nuanced rhythm, and a uniquely engaging thani avartanam shows his artistry and mastery of mridangam playing. His retirement is far from necessary. It’s a privilege to witness an artist whose dedication has only deepened with time, reflecting the true spirit of Carnatic music. Maybe the concert organizers should accommodate him even before the concert start in such a way he does not feel uncomfortable on stage.

What an ungracious comment

It is one thing to be objective about music as an entertainment, and it as another thing to understand what a legend has contributed to the body of our music (just the BMK+MSG+TVG concerts would be colossal). One should consider this to be a fortune that this stalwart performed at this age and learn what it takes to keep motivation after decades of performing with legends; and still able to perform at a very high level that most professional youngsters wouldn't match. More than ungracious, seems an illiterate comment.
