I don't know about pre-50s era, but as far as I know it was Nargis who became the hero of Mother India, and then onwards many actresses have been the hero of their films. Now come out of the wrong thought that madhuri ruled the industry for one decade or something like that. No, she couldn't rule a decade like Sridevi. Upto 1992-93, it was Sridevi who was ruling the industry like a Queen. 1993 was also Juhi's year because in one of her old interviews, the interviewer was calling her number one and she had many successful releases that year. Thanks to Sridevi who dropped Darr and Aaina which went to Juhi. It was only 1994, when madhuri came to the top only because of hahk. And again she fell down in 1995. 1995 was Kajol's year with the releases of Ddlj and Karan Arjun. And if anyone says that in 1997, she had dtph, then it was not madhuri who made the movie successful. Because Srk and Karishma had become stars by then. The success of dtph did nothing good to madhuri, only continued the success of Srk and Karishma. madhuri only had flops after that upto 2002, when she left the industry. So, she came to the top only for one year. As soon as she started giving flops, the critics, reporters or journalists declared that she was no more number one. Critics never liked madhuri as they knew that she can't act properly and only knows how to giggle and shake her assets everywhere, whereas in case of Sridevi, critics have always supported her as they knew that she is the true Queen of Indian Cinema.❤️❤️❤️ U Srideviji and R.I.P...
