I am in my 50s and the popularity of Taylor came out when I was too old for listening to a teenager sing from her diary. That is not an insult, at the time it was very much what she was writing about. Because of Paddles and her like for Taylor Swift on Kathleen’s podcast I have given Taylor Swift a new listen to, and I can now give my full opinion that she is very talented and deserves a bunch of kudos. I still don’t connect with all her music, but I can appreciate it and her songwriting skills. So, thank you for this extra show and the info. I feel more educated, and my world is a little bit bigger now.

Thank you for this episode, Kathleen! My 30-yr old daughter is a Swiftie, and she attended 3 concerts in 2 cities. She and her gf’s have convinced me to also be a Swiftie.❤️ They all had the same observations as you did. It’s pretty incredible to see such kindness, acceptance and happiness across the board with “all the children.” BTW, it may have been a mostly white audience because it was in Denver, but the East Coast concerts had a greater variety of people of color than what you observed in Denver. One more thing-my daughter met and spoke with Tay-Tay’s parents who were sitting near her. They attend every concert! Pretty amazing family! The “I hate John Mayer” bracelet with a smile emoji says it all.😂

Hi Kathleen, been fan since lockdown, BUT only I recently found the Pubcast! There were enough references to past shows, I said what the heck - and went back to the beginning, it took be about 2 mos. It was awesome having 4-5 hours of Madigan a day! 😂 I agreed Taylor is a force unto herself, economically, socially and even somewhat politically. BUT have you ever heard of K-Pop band, BTS? Similar to Taylor with worldwide Stadiums tours, high tech effects, pop up stores, etc. I’ve shared a link, it’s about 8 minutes long - and only scratches the surface AND it’s 4 yrs old! They are 10X more popular now - so much so their fans affect So. Korean GDP! They also have positive messages, both socially and politically. And yes - they are singing Korean, but I am a 64 yr old female from upstate NY and I love the boys. They also have more songs now, both with English lyrics and some completely in English. Because obviously thats a big market too- but I also love their Korean songs - and anyway that’s what internet for - to translate, right? Ha ha. Anyway in your spare time (

OMG! its so funny you talked about the judds story. I have a similar story about how I met Tay Tays mom in Nashville while doing some utility work. This is also a testament to how bad the stalking gets for Queen Tay Tay. Im not gonna say what neighborhood, but the guard at the gate warned me "Taylor Swifts mom lives here and she carries a gun" apparently becasue of all the stalkers and such. so fast forward she mustve thought i was a stalker in disguise becasue when I went to the door and knocked, no answer for a long time and she mustve been looking through the ring cam beacause I had to leave a door hanger notice on the house if nobody answered. So as soon as i lean forward the door opens and there is Queen Tay Tays momma asking me who I am and what I want, pistol in hand. I explained who I was and what I was there for, and she profusely apologized and explained that even in the gated and guarded neighboorhood where many Nashville Celebrities live....some stalkers get through. Some have even gone as far as disguising themselves as workers trying to get in the house. so thats the story of how I met Tay Tay's mom.
