Your brain is so amazing. When you tell stories, you remember everyone’s name and all the details. When my son died, I walked around in cement shoes and my brain couldn’t think straight. Your dad has it right…it’s important to get back to work. The grief will still pop into your thoughts when it does. It’s best to keep busy.

I hope your Mom is doing ok. My Dad (stepdad but I don’t think of him that way) was also Irish Catholic. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever known, with a deep faith and the best sense of humor. He passed away 7 years ago, and I was blessed to be holding his hand when Jesus came to call him home. What a blessing that was to have been there. I’m glad you were able to be with your Dad! The stories of your Dad make me smile because it’s similar to how funny my Dad was. Peace to you and your family! And may you always have a smile when you think of Jack Madigan❤️❤️

LOL!! 😂😂 THE MASS CARDS!! Sending you so much love and energy your way!! I felt like a 3 legged table after my mom and dad past. So off balance and broken down. My dad passed on my brother’s birthday and my mom passed on my other brother’s birthday. Perspective change to help them I said they now celebrate their birthdays into Heaven. My folks lived a good life but the end was very difficult. One day at a time everyone that’s grieving, sometimes even less that that. Sending much love to anyone that’s experiencing loss. 🙏💕🙏💕🙏

Jackalope left this world on his terms or the best he could negotiate. Please keep sharing stories about him and the rest of your family and friends. Your stories of dysFUNction are so relatable and bring much joy in the hearing and retelling. LOVE the screaming goat! We hid one in our school office for years and when a crazy ass parent would leave, then the goat came out. It was so good for our mental health especially during the COVID years. I taught Special Ed for 1 year before I quit. By the end of the year, I decided with one of my classes the boys lives were not going to be ruined by sentence structure , but they needed to hear what you relayed to us about police. I figured they could remember one important thing, so I taught them not to talk to the police. So tonight I’ll have a drink for a few special reasons. I lost my dear companion of 10 years, my sweet bunny. I’ll stir in prayers for all of us.

We have fishers in northern British Columbia. Saw the neighbour's cat come flying over the backyard fence and go up a tree. Right on its tail was a fisher that caught the cat and dragged it down the tree and back over the fence. Sometimes nature sucks.

Oh Kathleen, I am so sorry for your loss of your wonderful dad. I was with my mom, stroking her head for hours until she passed. I know she knew I was there and I have always been glad I stayed with her. My dad was sneaky and passed away when we all took a bathroom break. The nurses said some people do that when they don’t want their loved ones to be right in the room when they pass. Your dad is watching over you now.❤❤❤

My mom's funeral was on a Saturday and I went back to work on the next Monday. I'd been with her before she died and stayed home through the funeral. People were surprised I was back so soon and I said the same thing, "What am I going to do, stay home and cry?" Oh Kathleen, so sorry to hear about Jack. I was hoping to catch up with him and Vicky one day somewhere in Florida. I understand about all the caretaking and worry it requires for our parents, retired young at 54 in 2014 to take of my Dad after his 2nd brain surgery. He passed 5 years ago, still miss him everyday. Mom fell that same year breaking her hip and shoulder, never really the same after that. She passed 2 days after this past Christmas, having my moments but not wallowing as I am volunteering at a historical house in Melborne, Florida called Green Gables and taking care of my Greatgreat 5 yr old nephew. Have been behind on the pubcasts but so glad I skipped ahead to this episode, fiyah as usual. Thanks for sharing Jack and Vicky with your loyal termites that have loved them as our own.

Your story about your father always needing firefighters to help pick him up reminded me of my mother who fell a lot and the fire department would always come to pick her up and we always ask Dad which is her favorite and dad said it doesn't matter she just wants them to come over she falls on purpose I know it. It sounds like a screaming infant you will get up and go to the yard expecting to find an infant left on your front porch. Postage in Ireland is 1.40 Euro = $ 1.50.
