FYI: have your notes printed and binded at Staples. So helpful and fairly reasonably priced. And so much time is spent printing at home and having to use up paper and ink. You send what you want to be printed and pick everything up as soon as the next day or even the same day. Highly recommend!

I’m in pre-nursing right now and I am in the first semester all online it’s going pretty good. I can’t wait until next year when I get straight into the program 🥰 I am a transfer student I went to school for Respiratory Therapy I did graduate but that’s not where my hearts at! Nursing is where my heart is at ! 7 years being a CNA, two years being a Respiratory therapist. I can’t wait til get my BSN in three years 🥰😊

Garianne I loved the field it was amazing! It was just that I’ve always wanted to be a nurse but I got discouraged due to keep flunking my enterance rest for nursing. As soon as I got my respiratory degree, that’s when I transferred to a University to get my nursing degree and they accepted me because of my grades in respiratory therapy. Respiratory is a growing field! It may seem like you are limited but you are not. You can definitely bridge over to become a physician assistant with an master’s degree.

Loved this video! I Started my first nursing semester technically yesterday, but courses opened up on Canvas this past Saturday. I was stressed initially when the courses opened because everything was so confusing and left the students in the dark. Yesterday, a lot of things were cleared up by the instructors. I was anxiously waiting for your next video! You have a lab for every class? That's interesting. The only lab we had was a skills lab along with Fundamentals. I'd be interested to know how your mental health clinical goes. When I did mine, we just did a metal status exam on our patient and kinda "hung out" with them. That was all we could do as students. I just started med surg 3 this week, and my instructors have it set up in a flipped classroom format. My med surg 1 instructor did that too, but we got voice-overs for that class. We don't get those for this one. Good luck little sis!

The syllabus is actually an overview of the class you’re taking. It’s not a class it’s self. It just tells what all to expect with the class, what percentage things are for your final grade, and guidelines.

I always rewrite my notes cuz it helps me remember the material, and I use the textbooks to answer homework/discussion questions which also helps with incorporating everything! I hope this helps!(:

we actually don't have a specific book for mental health so I am using my ati workbook for readings and highlighting in there and I don't always rewrite my notes but I try to if I have time bc it helps me remember things better

You should look into investing in an iPad for note taking! I used to print all of my lectures as well and it’s sooo time consuming. Getting an iPad for school was probably the best decision I ever made for taking all of my notes and keeping them in one place (:

In the UK we apply for specific nursing specialities the options are Adult nursing, child nursing, mental health nursing and learning disability nursing. So we’ll get mini experiences in each field but we don’t have rotations :D
