This was all over the place for a few years. The root of this was Disco Babies From Outer space from 1998. About a year later Madison Avenue came out with Don't Call Me Baby and not long after the two were combined. It was a huge hit. This was all over. Are you in the UK? Not as much house over there at that time, right? Lots of drum and bass and a ton of trance. Jungle was blowing up. Hardcore movement was going and spinning off to a ton of other sub genres. As far as I know the house movement hadn't really gotten big there, yet. Could be wrong though! I remember the UK DJ mag top 100 tracks and virtually all of it was trance at the time this came out. When you looked at the list of the top 100 DJs you would see the same thing. A tiny handful of artists outside of trance would sneak in. And, the top 10 was basically always the same handful (Oakenfold, Tiesto, Sasha, Digweed, paul van dyk, armin van burin ) ... right? You'd get some folks coming in like Carl Cox and Judge Jules for sure. But, more people like Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul and Dave Seaman and Danny Tenaglia ... I'm blanking it's been DECADES ... but ... MOSTLY trance, right?
