To be clear, bisexual and straight people can also be attracted to transgender people. Pansexual means someone’s gender has no influence in your attraction to them. Bisexual people feel different types or levels of attraction to different genders. Regardless these labels don’t really matter that much just love who you love :)

It depends on that person tho, like for example. So my friend is trans, she was born a male but when she was a male she liked girls so she was straight. When she transitioned into a woman, she still liked girls. So that means she is a lesbian. It depends on what the persons sexuality was before they transitioned

Lanay Starks it can actually. So the difference between pan and bi is kind of what the actual person makes. Like I identify more with Bi but would date non-binary people. The thing with pansexual is that they don’t care or pay attention to gender and sex. With bisexuality like someone already mentioned it’s the attraction to more than one gender.

I'm sorry and truly do not mean to spread any sort of negativity here, she seems like a very nice and down to earth person, i grew up with a mother with bpd and so I have been on the receiving end of someone with this disorder all my life. Be weary please. If you are a young person that has been diagnosed with BPD please please do not rule out therapy, especially if you plan on having kids one day. If you have bpd, you may not realise how you affect those around you. If you aren't getting therapy for yourself, do it for those you love, please!! i am only thinking if my mother had read this comment when she was younger that it might have all panned out very differently. This is really not a good example to follow and I urge you to not follow in Madison's footsteps regarding this particular aspect of the interview.

For the bi babies! Bi as a label does not exclude genders! Transphobic people who identify as bi exclude genders!! This is a pretty old view. Now days bi normally means that you like 2 or more genders. (And gender does play a role in your attraction.) Pan normally means that you are attracted to people regardless of their gender. (Attracted to the person without gender playing a role in your attraction)

madison seems like a lovely person and if no therapy or meds is working for her then thats great but as someone who lives closely with someone that has BPD i dont think it should be encouraged for people with BPD to just not go to therapy or see a psychiatrist. its a VERY complicated thing to deal with, including for the people around someone w BPD. so i dont think madison is a good example to follow, if you have BPD or think you might have it please please please go see a doctor or a therapist, she might be an isolated case but it helps most people a lot.

I agree as well. People with BPD have a notoriously hard time forming long-term positive relationships with others, including/especially therapists. It's already hard enough to get someone with BPD to go to therapy and work on getting better, so for someone so young and uneducated to encourage to try to work on things inside yourself is really irresponsible and I hope she stops.

Kudos to you for talking about your diagnosis! BPD is no joke! You are still young but as you grow older and go through the trials and tribulations of life, it will be very beneficial for you to learn some coping skills. I spent many years in and out of therapy and felt like a science project for the counselors, so I get where you are coming from regarding therapy. You can buy DBT books online and learn skills from the comfort of your own home.😊 This definitely helped me, along with the right medication. Wishing you all the best! And thank you for bringing this illness to the forefront. 🙏❤

Im a mental health nurse. A lot of people with BPD, (or EUPD as we call it in Europe) are very cautious about therapy etc. Their lives are very tumultuous and trust can be difficult for them. What I’m trying to say is that while dangerous, it’s not Madelyn’s fault that she has these beliefs therefore we have to be careful not to blame

I also work in the mental health field in the USA and didn’t mean to come off like I was blaming her - but I think as a person on a public platform she has more responsibility to either promote BPD/mental health/therapy in a positive way or not. I guess what I was trying to say was I was very disappointed that someone who has the power to influence others lives used this interview to discourage therapy and described how she has no clear intention to educate herself on the disorder. At the very least this would be important to encourage others who might be struggling. But again we both know these beliefs are common with people who struggle with BPD and I hope and wish she will change her stance one day and get the help she needs and encourage others to do the same. Neglecting your mental health it is not something a public figure should be promoting, but I guess ignorance is bliss.

I do agree and would stress for anyone watching this video to take the experiences of others with a grain of salt. Everyone is unique and therapy (especially DBT) and medication has been shown to have more positive effects for BPD than a lack therefore. People have to do their own objective research and not allow one subjective opinion to influence them.

this is a genuine question to anyone who wants to answer. but i am a Christian and cannot support the LGBTQ+ community. that doesn't mean i hate anyone in it or that i treat anyone differently. i love lgbtq+ community members and i will be friends with literally anyone and everyone. i know there have been too many Christians who have treated LGBTQ+ people with disrespect and treating them like they are this terrible human being (which is totally wrong). i think a straight person is just the same as a gay person. everyone is equally sinful (unless it's like murder because there are greater sins but being gay is not one of those). i believe everyone struggles with their own sin but that doesn't mean we should treat others differently. so my question is, even though i don't support the LGBTQ+ community but i still love them and treat them the same, would y'all not want to be friends with me? does it turn y'all away to be friends with people like me simply because we don't support the lgbtq community? i will treat everyone the same and i respect everyone as human being but i cannot back down on my beliefs. i genuinely want to be friends with anyone who is willing to be friends with me. so i hope that it doesn't turn y'all away when i say i don't support the community. much love 💕

It’s not and it is. It is a straight relationship but it’s also a lqbtq relationship. It’s bc of their birth gender. Like if a woman dated a woman who became a trans male, she prolly wouldn’t be comfortable dating them bc of their birth gender. You have to be part of the community to understand it.
