Ok I'll admit it...I cry when I watch this vid. Why? 1) I'm a hornline guy n this is some top tier brass writing played to perfection. 2) I grew up right around Bristol, n 4th of July there is always a big parade n celebration. It's a colonial town. I used to go when I was a kid. 3) As an adult, I moved to NYC, so... 4) Love the Scouts heart, and the balls to take on this subject for a show. They totally nailed it.

2011 was the last year that I marched. I think I cried the first time I heard it. At finals I just had goosebumps the entire show after watching it progress all season!

this is by far my fav DCI video on youtube...it takes me back to when I used to play Sousaphone and Trumpet in marching band. I used to march with the Sousaphone and then go up front and solo with my Trumpet. It was the best feeling in the world to hear people clap and cheer after the band was done with the performance. These guys are completely awesome at what they do...:)

yeah, the show encore is kind of the equivalent of a powerlifter maxing out at the end of a set. what else is there that day to save it for? but you know it's gonna be a little rough around the edges. that's ok. the fire in the sound is part of what makes it great to me... because you KNOW they've been playing all day :)

One of my go-to videos......This is great. I chuckle at the comments about the cracks that the soloists may make, know that by this time of night, they are pretty much beat out for the day, between practice, warm-ups, two shows, etc. No issues with them - they are still wailin'..... I also enjoy the fireworks in the background......especially when you can longer hear them !!!

Both Madison and Carolina put things back into perspective this season...a bit of 'going back to the basics'. And it goes back to something our director instilled within us. It never mattered what the panel of 'however' many judges had to say, it was the response of the 1500 plus audience watching us. If we had the crowd on our side...then we knew that we did our job. And, because of that, we were always winners!

I saw this in Indy on Thursday! I cried. And making a 225 lb 16 year old is hard to do. This is by far my fav! I was big on Phantom, but after this I will always be a SCOUT fan! I love it. Gives me chills over the internet! :) I'm so excited for marching this year after this. BASS 2 LEGGO! Lol
