Madison, Wisconsin Capitol | 4K drone footage

Madison, the capital city of Wisconsin. Recent visit to capture fall colors in the Badger State. The city’s skyline is dominated by the State Capitol (284.4 feet [86.7 metres] high), modeled after the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Its white granite dome is topped by a statue, Wisconsin; made of bronze by sculptor Daniel Chester French and covered in gold leaf, it symbolizes the state motto: “Forward.” Governmental operations and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1848) account for much of the city’s prosperity and form the basis of its economy.

As always, an interesting montage of a city. It doesn't hurt that the colors were borderline ridiculous. I never realized that Madison is sitting square between 2 huge lakes like that... and with their downtown and state capital on the strip in between. But that's what you learn when you watch videos from the unique angle that we drone videographers provide. It would have been completely different seeing it from the ground or on a map... but having a lake in the foreground, the capital, and a lake in the background is a wonderful shot.

Madison is a beautiful city. Love to visit. Used to thrive efore the pandemic but now since there is not much students around it is quiet. Still fun to visit and first time finally captured from above (by me of course). Thanks for being here this morning.

Loved it. The beginning dusk time-lapse, in the intersection, while the movement is going left to right is spectacular ! 0:15 the off-axis rotation is something I don't recall you doing before. Excellent. I did that in the beginning of my "Delray Beach" video by accident I thought "That's cool. I'll keep it in there". I noticed some "subtle" transitions near the end of the video. They were the polished touches that most may not pick up.

Thanks man. That was my first time using the rotation. I'm planning to accommodate more shots like this one in my future videos. It only works well with straight movement though.

I grew up in Wisconsin and after moving away I really realized just how cold it was there. I kept hoping that summer would arrive but I had to wait until June before the weather warmed up. Sometimes I shiver just thinking about it. I did not live in Madison but always thought of it a cow town. Now it is a town where many TT's live.

@@joyfaith1711 city ordinance wont allow building to be taller than the capital building. Just look at the difference between st. Louis capital building and Madison's. STL Capitol is dwarfed by sky scrapers.
