It is about the same around LaCrosse. But getting more ice each day. I am going to check ice tomorrow and maybe get out this weekend if I can find safe ice on some backwaters. People are still fishing the dam with boats.

Thanks for this report Erich, I recently found intresting data from UW on lake mendota freeze and thaw statistics, usually we get a solid lake freeze between dec 15 - jan 1, The latest on recenty history was in 2007 when it didnt freeze until Jan 20th.. You will hopfuly find me on the ice in the next 2 weeks ( fingers crossed )
