Honestly, we have a switch here and it's only ever undocked to remove the joycons. It's always been used to play on a TV. If they just made a 'Switch TV' edition without the screen, and bundled it with a pro controller instead, I'd be down for that.

I don't know why everyone acts like the original switch is just going to cease to exist when the switch 2 is revealed. I think it's pretty clear that the switch is going to be around for 2 to 3 more years. They did say they wanted 10 years out of it and we're only in 8th year. The PS2 sold for 13 years I think as long as it's still sells units they're still going to produce them. If the neck switch ends up being 1 to $200 more than the current one then I definitely think that it's going to stay on the market as well

@@charleleloulou well, either the accessory maker is illegally promoting the Switch 2 wrong, or the OP's assessment is correct. It's not rocket science. There is no way can you keep the Joycons from flying or sliding apart if the magnets are just going to be sitting on one another with both sides flat. There is most likely a recession/indent and the button pushes the Joycon out.. One of the biggest things Nintendo mentioned about their follow up recognizing the flaw in the Switch 1's joycons are that they know American hands are bigger and stronger when holding it. There have been many instances of the slide rails failing and the joycons easily sliding out.

I have a feeling they're going to make the Switch 1 an accessory for the Switch 2 in some way. This will take care of the remaining stock. This could help explain the dual USB-C ports. Just a theory. Like you can use it as the second screen for the DS/3DS games they're going to add. Then they make a dedicated small snap on screen that costs 100 bucks later.

Nintendo is loving all this free advertising and buzz about the Switch 2. I doubt any of these companies are revealing these accessories in violation of any NDA or licensing agreements. It would be possibly costing them millions in sales and lawsuit penalties. I think we'll hear something from Nintendo if or when the talk starts turning negative due to their silence.

The original Switch was teased in October 2016 with literally no info outside of the teaser video (This was done primarily due to the Wii U being in its twilight and Nintendo needed to get something out in the public). The actual reveal with games and hardware showcase was January 2017 and it launched in March 2017. I fully expect Nintendo to repeat that approach with Switch 2. If they reveal it this month and launch around March/April, that would completely track with the Switch 1. They are probably waiting till later in the month after CES is done and settled seeing as they usually want to have their reveals not be distracted by other things like tech/game conventions or showcases from Sony or Microsoft. I'm curious if it will be a reveal that showcases both the hardware as well as software for both Switch 1 & 2. If the rumors of the system potentially upscaling/upgrading Switch 1 software is true, that will be a game changer and allow both systems to co-exist nicely.

Been rocking a turquoise NSL for years, loved the experience, stopped playing after i got me a steam deck, just a natural process but i still love that little guy. I don't understand if this is legit, why have the same.exact concept as the switch? Didn't they learn from the wii u? It's the switch, with a better graphics upgrade...

The practicality of how the Switch is set up, and then how well it sold meant that there is a large market for hybrid mobile gaming console experience (thus the Deck and etc coming after it). The Wii U failed because that carried over the Wii's gimmick of the controllers and the "moving" gameplay style of games were already on the decline. I also think the tablet's limited range turned off many people into spreading the word. It was poorly marketed too, with the "Wii" name already being cheesy sounding, but putting a "U" for the successor just made it worse with how awkwardly the grammar wordplay sounded. A more powerful Switch 2, improving vastly the engine and software underneath along with overhauled NSO functionality, many will buy it. No different than the Playstation numbering their consoles. Just my opinion from a marketing standpoint, mistakes usually are great teaching lessons for companies.

I'll buy this and keep it in the box until it can be jailbroken so I could download the games i want for free lol I have plenty of games to play until then
