I have to agree with what the guy said about the huge difference in the cost of divorce with a western woman and a south East Asian divorce. I have a paid for house in California and about a substantial amount of savings and investment. I married a girl in the Philippines going on 7 years and have no intention of bringing her back to the states.. paid cash for a house about 50,000 here in the Philippines if she left me tomorrow I just walk away and lose the house in the states a divorce would cost hundreds of thousands more.

I rent out two rooms in my California residence to my friends . it works out great as I still have my master bedroom so I can live there and collect rent. I didn’t want to rent the house out completely or to strangers as I have a place to go back to when necessary. I bought the small house in the Philippines with the understanding that it’s in her name. all these foreigners that cry saying the Filipina took their house🤣🤣 it was NEVER theirs to begin with 🤣🤣 if you marry a girl in a foreign country they say never invest more money that you can afford to walk away from. we were renting a condo which was costing about 500$ a month which is just throwing money away. I want her to always have a roof over her head when I croak and it makes sense to keep my property since I do spend a good portion of my time there too.😉

You having property in California is more special than you might know: real-estate-holding companies are buying single family homes at far above asking price to beat the “Regular Joe” to ownership. It’s a relatively new trend. Companies like that can easily afford to let properties sit empty, generating no rental money, but they can still count them as assets. So, you’ve done good: maybe even better than you know. For me, I don’t know if it’ll be the Philippines or somewhere else, but it’ll be someplace where the dollar’s relative value to local currency / ambient economy helps-

That freelancer is used to a certain amount of cash flow. She had survived the street and turned the street to her advantage, so far. Her looks make that happen. Once the Balkan guy leaves, guess where she will be! She is physically using him and she is able to take a "vacation" from hustling when he visits. She knows how to stretch his money by going the inexpensive route during those 40 days together. To her that was a necessity so that she did not have to spend her own money. Both are in the "holding pattern" hanging mid-air to see which way the currents drift. Eventually, she will probably tire of him in favor of someone she can rinse to fund her dream of going back to her village, her mom and her daughter. If this Balkan guy has no way to increase his own cash flow, she will move on and he will suffer the very real pain of loss. I have to wonder if she is as madly in love with him as he is of her. She will see that she is in control and will determine when the time is right to move on to greener (more money) acres.

I surely agree with you Dan when you say "don't get involved with the wrong type of women". The problem is we do not always know if the woman is of the right type or not. I know one freelancer who is always honest with me and never tries to sell me a sob story or something. And I know several "good" girls who proved to be constant liars always telling me stories about different types of accidents and health issues and everything else with one common denominator: they needed money. I have a story from Thailand and from Philippines because I'm from Malaysia. I'm a citizen of this country and I've experienced it all (although it's not Pattaya or Bangkok). I hope you've heard of Haatyai, Danok and Betong where I actually drove my car to the hotel in 2023 across the border. You only have to look at the channels hosts situation where he told his wife that he did not have much money, so she had to love him for what he is and the love that he has to offer. Eventually the lack of money did become an issue, which it always will as all of the extended Thai family and village will always have expectations and demands of the foreigner via his partner, and it is a tremendous loss of face if she can't provide to some of their demands. Now he has and is still going through hell as he has a very strong character to do the right thing by his son. you are correct in what you say. even if you meet a genuine nice girl who genuinely loves/cares for you, the peer pressure is another issue to overcome. Been to 2 villages and on both occasions the family didn't approve of me. (Because I didn't Dole out my cash). even outside of the villages, a girl can get pressure from her friends as them compare foreigners and how much each falang is sending 😂😂 both my exes thought they could do better and both are exactly where they started, working long hours for a pittance. I cannot fathom how "poor people" from the villages can judge us for not splashing the cash yet we don't judge them for being "poor" but when you spend your life in a fish bowl you won't know anything outside the fish bowl I guess

I don’t think there’s any common law issues with living together with a woman in Thailand. Just don’t get married and don’t build a house on her property or buy a house, cuz either way, she will own it before the ink is dry on the building contract or buying agreement. You can rent very cheap here, no need to buy anything. If you can discipline yourself to do this, the pitfalls aren’t to bad. Way better than any western country outcome.

Since he is not being played for money just be careful she isn't grooming him for crime, such as 'will your carry a parcel to EU' or 'will you take delivery of goods in EU', 'can I transfer money to your account for a friend'. Because you know some nasty guys are going to knock on his door in the Balkans. He may be the ideal mark for a crime venture due to his lack of money.

I know if your street wise you will always survive and have a good time where ever you travel. I've travelled whole of South East Asia. I thing it's gonna end bad. If he doesn't have a bank roll, she will soon start finding ways to get him to take out loans for things against his assets. Then when he's in major debt he'll start liquidating his assets and she will be on her way to the next unlucky guy.

If he's that young, he should be striving to build a solid financial future anyways, not because of a women. He should go balls to the walls with earning, invest in his own future, plow through as many short times as he can within reason, and then settle down in 20 years with a younger girl. Thats what I recommend. Not that he's actually gonna do it. I remember my dad telling me, if there was just a pill that we could give to boys as soon as they hit puberty that would make them not attracted to girls, and make them strive for success instead, they would mostly be millionaires by the time they were in mid to late 30's. But this guy is the perfect example of squandering precious time and resources on a low return investment for feelings. Feelings that can and most certainly will change when the better option is just to tempting for her. He's already seen the competition he will have to compete with and she is still young. Once she is a little older and realizes that she doesnt have forever anymore, she will prioritize money and her long term lifestyle more than him. Its a tale as old as time and it is nature.

From your videos, it seems to me that Thai culture is transactional. When you marry, you have to pay money (dowry) to her parents. Marriage is a contract to them. The husband provides the wife with money. The wife serves the husband and makes him happy. But the concept of for better or for worse, in poverty or in wealth, in sickness or in health is alien to them. If you can't uphold your end of the bargain, its over. The other thing in their culture is that the kids have to provide for the parents in their old age. So you are also marrying the entire family. I suppose your Thai kids will look after you when you are retired and old. Good luck.

Gentlemen, I think we all know how this one ends but can’t say he should just walk away. Today, it seems that all relationships with women are temporary.
