In the interview linked here ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmqVco1qj96jmsUsi=0VhwTouWVtxw4kXr&t=610 ), Chris Foreman, guitar, talks about the Baggy Trousers video. Apparently, Lee Thompson, sax, wanted to have dummies flying but it ended up with just him on a wire... and Suggs' reaction reflects genuine fun/amazement. Except it's not baggy trousers anymore, it's stupidly tight trousers that taper at the ankles. They're the in-thing now. Won't find me wearing them though. Back when I was in secondary school in the 2000's, I wore a hand me down pair of Levi's that were about two sizes too big for me. A bloke who was a punk rocker in the 80's said I looked like a luddite in them. Good times 😂

I´m from Finland but in my heart I´m English, just love British music, culture, way of life, people, the works. I´ve many times wished I´d been born British....is it possible to become British in some way...just love the UK with all my heart!!!

@johnny hadkiss Didn´t mean to diss, sorry. It´s just that I´ve often thought, UK could be my second home country. I remember when I first time ever set foot on England´s soil, I really felt like coming home, not abroad, I´ve been to many places in the UK and it´s always been the same cozy, homy, familiar feeling. Now you know what I mean? There is a great, big place for England in my heart!

@genomizer27633 жыл бұрын
@@Chrishagen Ok, thanks for the update, even if Finland has been "voted" to be the most bestist, happiest country in the world, you know, that people here are at their happiest mostly because we´ve got it all so good. I have to say, that I am very lucky to have been born here in Finland. But as I have lived here all my life, one tends to find only the bad things happening here. Are things so fucked up there in the UK after Brexit as we are told, did everything change for the worst? It´s so hard to believe, since you´ve got a long history of independence and getting along over there, without any need from the likes of EU, to go forward and going on strong. You are more than welcome to visit Finland and I´d be showing you all the highlights. But after all I wrote here, you just can´t take Britain from my heart! You over there mean so much to me and I wave your Union Jack in my mind!

@Robiddybob29: You are right about that, to be a true Cockney you have to be born in Cheapside area of East London which is where Bow Church is, the rest of London is just London and not quite as strong as the East End dialect. Madness like most of the SKA bands were from Camden Town.

Naughty boys in nasty schools Headmasters breaking all the rules Having fun & playing fools Smashing up the woodwork tools All the teachers in the pub Passing round the ready-rub Trying not too think of when The lunchtime bell will ring again. Oh what fun we had But, did it really turn out bad All I learnt at school Was how to bend not break the rules Oh what fun we had But at the time it seemed so bad Trying different ways To make a difference to the days. The headmaster's had enough today All the kids have gone away Gone to fight with next door's school Every term, that is the rule Sits alone and bends his cane Same old backsides again All the small ones tell tall tales Walking home and squashing snails. Oh what fun we had But, did it really turn out bad All I learnt at school Was how to bend not break the rules Oh what fun we had But at the time it seemed so bad Trying different ways To make a difference to the days. Lots of girls & lots of boys Lots of smells & lots of noise Playing football in the park Kicking push bikes after dark Baggy trousers, dirty shirt Pulling hair & eating dirt Teacher comes to break it up Back of the ,ead with a plastic cup. Oh what fun we had But, did it really turn out bad All I learnt at school Was how to bend not break the rules Oh what fun we had But at the time it seemed so bad Trying different ways To make a difference to the days.
