The words to this and that saxophone by kiks is one of the best bits of sax I've ever heard, this should of been released,America missed out sadly on this very British band. No brit award? Speechless

It was the first album I ever bought for myself with my own money. I played it like crackheads hit their pipe.

This album came away from ska more pop. Yes probably my favourite but I like most of theirs I find their best was never singles like rise and fall. New Delhi is brilliant

@@glenshea1967 It says something because 1982 was a great year for music! I first heard "Our House" when our school had a DJ playing music during the lunch break and had to have it. Recording it off the radio would not do. Also... I paid like 15 dollars... over twice what you paid based on the 1982 exchange rate! I'm not pleased!

A strange coincidence but Blue Skinned Beast just popped into my head as I was riding home on my bike. After listening to it I then listened to the whole album which I had forgotten I knew if that makes sense ? My brother Andrew also got it for Christmas when it came out. We used to share a room so I was pummeled with this album as a kid, what a fantastic record.

so, is saw in the "our house video" that their was some dude in the back with a horn/wind instrument just living his best life. so i had to check out the rest of their music wondering "that dudes probably not well represented in this song" i am glad my astute observation panned out.

" These are the streets I used to walk On summer nights, sit out and talk That's the house where I used to live I remember what I would give. This is the town I won't forget And after anger there's nothing left Walking now round and round Familiar sights are open ground. Being here again I can recall Forgotten moments The rise and fall. We used to live where children play They leave their homes a mile away To come and stand in trees and grass Where we once walked the memories last. Being here again I can recall Forgotten moments The rise and fall. The sun shines east, the sun shines west But I know where the sun shines best Casey street in the afternoon Once again it's over too soon. Being here again I can recall Forgotten moments The rise and fall. Being here again I can recall Forgotten moments The rise and fall. Rise (Rise) (Rise) Rise and fall Rise and fall ... "

Madness never were a ska band, it was just one of many influences in their music. They moved on from that by the time rise & fall was released.

Who is who on the cover? What I know: Suggs is in front with the newspaper Lee is the Soldier What I’m less confident on: Barso is looking in the mirror Bedders is in the hat in the middle Chrissy Boy is watching TV on the couch What I’m guessing: Woody is the preacher Chas is in Blackface. Can anybody confirm if I’m correct here?
@goldersgreen11472 жыл бұрын
It's woody reading newspaper suggs with hym book far left.lee soldier Chris on sofa barson with cobra snake chas in mirror.bedders leaning towards soldier dressed in suit I think lol

I've been wondering about this for decades. Chris and Bedders were the most obvious, but I always thought it was Suggs reading the paper. I guessed it was Barson as the snake charmer cos he's a fairly solid guy size wise.
