Erotica era was Madonna's best in my humble opinion. She spoke openly and unapologetically about so many taboo subjects. Her visuals were daring, bold and in your face, she was scrutinized relentlessly and stood like a champ. The release of the movie, Body of Evidence, Album Erotica and the book, Sex catapulted her into new heights. I was about 14 and I loved every bit of it and continue to, to this day.

I've bee a fan since I was a kid but it's only in my teens that I researched her discography and erotica is among my favourite albums. One of her best eras, so controversial. She never cared about having a ‘perfect’ vocal, she often was happy with one take because what she cared about was an authentic, emotional vocal performance that ‘sold’ the song and the emotions she’s trying to convey with her words.
