Unbelievable! I haven't heard this song in 20 years. I used to hear this on the radio when I was an art student in high school, and I thought it was so beautiful. I think the lines "you're frozen, when your heart's not open" mean for me that when something happens in our life and we don't accept it, we got stuck, we're frozen and broken at the same time. We don't want to see what life brings us instead and what's more important what life wants us to share with others. Because our heart's not open. I’ll say what means this song for me based on a experience of mine. “you only see what your eyes want to see, how can life be what you want it to be” for me, those lyrics means that he always saw me as a obsessive, posessive girl and didn’t want anything with me until we met irl and changed his opinion about me because as how he said, I seemed innocent, shy and harmless when I was with him.. NEXT to him.. after he traveled back to Germany, he slowly started to see the old me again. I’ve tried to change, but his lack of attention that he gave to me made me like this and he got mad. “you’re broken, when your heart’s not open” this always made me think of him because he can’t really have feelings anymore for anyone, I wanted to be the one that he can love… but because he only see what he wants, or, what his eyes want to see and can’t open his heart… it didn’t work. “if I could melt your heart, we’d never be apart” she says. yes, if I could melt his heart and make him fall in love with me as how I fell in love with him, we couldn’t never be apart. “give yourself to me” well.. I just wanted him. “now there’s no point in placing the blame” this reminds me of him when always tried to blame me with everything, I already told him it’s our BOTH fault and not only his.. he knows that, but says that mostly it’s my fault. “and you should know I suffer the same” I found out that I’ve hurt him too by manipulating him, I didn’t want to do that.. but I’m also hurt too. “if I lose you, my heart will be broken” I already lost him, I wish he gave me another chance, he gave me multiple chances but I didn’t know that I can lose him and how it is without him. “you’re frozen, when your heart’s not open” I already said what this means for me but this touches my soul the most.. he can’t open his heart to me..
