I think it's incredibly sad how she's treated by the masses. Her voice is unique. It's way stronger than what most give her credit for. Her problem is she's so inconsistent. Another is the majority of her award show performances, which is what causal/none Madonna fans watch, vocally she's usually quite bad. Her nerves get the better of her. She's judged by the industry fodder and her voice always suffers for it. I don't see female artists today putting on that kind of show. I think Madonna and Janet Jackson really set the bar for performance. They're totally different in many ways but share some common ground. Madonna is the female popstar blueprint!

I agree with you! Madonna is the best selling female recording artist of all time, and is one of the greatest live performers ever. Period! I was lucky enough to see this tour in person in Chicago from the 3rd row. It changed pop music concerts forever. Period. Madonna is so creative, smart, has written many classic and great songs, sings very well (people don't give her enough credit for that), a great dancer, has such a revolving great style, but more than anything, has something to say. She is a true artist in every sense. She says what she thinks and fights for the betterment of marginalized people. She has a huge heart and such an ironic sense of humor. I have loved this woman since I was 11 years old back in 1984 after I first heard Borderline. I have been through it all with her, and I am a better person because of it. She opened my mind and heart to many things I would not have known otherwise and along the way left a musical blueprint on my life. She will forever be my Queen!

Like many commenters have pointed out, this 5-song block of the Blonde Ambition tour is probably the greatest in concert history. And shout out to her amazing dancers, as well as Niki Haris and Donna DeLory, who were her backup singers at the time and went with her on tour for almost 20 years. You can hear Niki belting out the chorus especially at the end. So good. They also supplied many of the background vocals on her albums during this period, most notably the Like a Prayer album.

Like A Prayer (the actual music video) has a very strong stance on police brutality and against racism. People get too caught up, even today, on the religious aspects of the video and see things in it that are not even there (like they see Jesus,when in fact she goes up to the patron saint of mixed race people within the church, that half of the video happens in a dream and there are two timelines plus the dream timeline, or even that she goes to church to pray for answers after witnessing a traumatic event). It's amazing that the music video is still misinterpreted so vastly, when most rather follow the narrative in the media at the time (80s, this is blasphemous!) instead of seeing what the message of the entire video is. Definitely worth checking out and reacting to, if you haven't yet.

Great tour blonde ambition. She did have a few problems with her voice on this tour . She was losing her voice u can hear it in this song. Eventually she had to cancel a few dates cause of her throat
