I will agree Madge's 90s albums were her most "artisty" (Erotica, Bedtime Stories & Ray of Light) but 80s Madge wasn't exactly the most "artisty". 1st album-true blue and even Like a Prayer (singles-wise) sounds all like the best pure pop ever. All the albums after that are much more eclectic. I love all Madonna eras but I do hate when people say they just like early Madonna when that's the least hipsterish hipster thing to say

I love madonna and I have quite of few of her albums but Ray of Light for me was her masterpiece. The album that instantly connected with. Every song was done so well you can't choose just one to be your favorite.

Madonna was her best all through the '90s. 'Ray Of Light' is her best album ever, and one of the best albums of all time. I wish she would bring back some of this electronic/trip hop artistry, she seems to have lost all artistry since 2008.

The Ray of Light era in my opinion, Madonna seemed to be fully matured, grounded spiritually, & had mastered her talents. She had taken some time off, after Bed Time Stories I believe & did some soul searching as Ray of Light hints at. Madonna seriously taking a look at where she was, is, & wanted to be going in her life in her songs telling the stories in all. It was a well put together album that blew almost everyone away, because she had settled way down & the songs had more soul & depth to them. Now after Ray Of Light was done & Music came along, that all started to go out the window & she's been in a decline ever since. It's like she gave in to who she use to be & wanted that back, but it was a different time & she was much older now. Then we have the Madonna of today, oh, excuse me "Madame X" & I'm like um yeah....... No. (-_-)

Definitely if u appreciate Ray Of Light, I find it hard how can you not even consider Madame X, a multicultural and so rich musically and lyrically album and era, just because of? Oh please..

@@fernandobrunord : Ray Of Light had substance to it. Almost everything she's come out with since has been more of the same concerning her previous material, just the attempts to modify it to today's sound & style. American life (the song) was pretty good I thought, but not much more phases me with her. Like me, you have your right to an opinion.

@@ReformedOrderPart2 Madame X has the most artistic and original music that Madonna had dropped since Confessions and at the level of Ray of Light.. Is just a matter of appreciation, not even need to like the music to see how much work of art have been done in Madame X

She has an amazing voice, so versatyle. She went to this high girlie voice in this album, but years before this, her vocals were deep and very low

I just had to cite this quote off the internet: "Ray of Light is recognized as one of the greatest albums of all time and has been featured on many critic lists due to its impact on popular music. Rolling Stone magazine placed the album at number 28 on the list of "100 Best Albums of the Nineties" and number 363 on the list of "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." "In addition to its critical reviews, Ray of Light was nominated for 6 awards & won 4 of them." What the fuck is your comment about?

MDNA is CRP thats crap! her new album would give Miley Cyrus a run for the cheesyness and mediocreness of it all. Ray Of Light is a diamond everything after that is just dog shit.

masterpiece is shite sounds like 90s bside, total filler hate the damn thing. i'm a sinner is Amazing especially on the tour version, and finally this album would have been great if it wasn't put together in 5 mins dude to her stupid flop of a film that took all of her time that she should have invested in her album. she better do it perfect next time cause if not she'll only be a live artist from now on and recording one

This album still sound modern and fresh in 2023. It doesn't sound outdated even thought it has been over 20 years. The sounds and lyrics of this album is so personal. It's like she took a chapter out of her diary and turned it into an album. This album really reflects where she was at in her life at that time. She went from being very popular in the 80's to being punished by the media for her sex book in the early 90's and people thought her career was over. She bounced back again with this album and people forgave her.
