I fell in love with this song when I was 9 or 10. I had a discman and was listening to Music in the back seat of the car while traveling with my parents. I remember the album made me drowzy, in a very good way, the vibes were so good it was like I was high or something; but I was 10, knew nothing about it, so just loved the feeling. And Paradise specifically was the peak of the experience, I will never forget that afternoon on the road. I consider this to be one of the best songs Madonna has ever created. I could have used the full length version of the track, but with only 3 (essentially 2) performances, it would stretch out for too long, and sometimes less is more. Hope you enjoy the 45th video. This is one of her most spiritual ballad from her 2000 Music album. Her original music video of this, is one of her legacy masterpieces and is in my all-time fave list of Madonna videos. She was deep into Eastern mysticism at this era. I’ve interpreted this song/video (with the dancers suspended high from a cocoon position, then descending down to earth, finally opening their mouths at the same with Madonna-with light coming out-as they let go their spirits) as evoking the Hindu/Buddhist belief of the cycle of birth-death-rebirth (reincarnation). In the Abrahamic faith traditions (Judeo/Christian/Islamic) it’s birth-death-then the spirit goes to either Paradise, Purgatory or Hell. Madonna is an artistic creative genius to explore this in her music and artistry.

I love this song too and it brings back memories too. I was actually in a car when I first heard it too and I was dating a guy then. Very wonderful compilation as always.
