Yay, I’m first - or one of the first! 😆. I love this song and the album named after it (I think I’ve mentioned that a “few” times). It was the soundtrack of 1998 for me. That was one of those rare years where everything seemingly went my way, so that album is special to me. The video was indeed groundbreaking. Madonna looked incredible in this video too, as do you Psyche with your new short hair. Very nice. Thank you for this Psyche. Great way to start my long weekend, as I am taking today off. @@bonditoddy Hello my lovely 😂 bless you are so sweet. I've been in loads of things mostly acting little parts but there isn't many about and that was sometime ago, but some is out there on the web. Holby, Doctors, and many other shows. I also did some presenting but that was for the BBC in-house and also I did one for Breakfast TV for, would you believe, for Australia Day 😂😂😂 - oh my. I had to run around Covent Garden as there used to be an Australian Pub so I filmed in there.My main work was behind the camera - looking after Celebs -Dani was one when she came to do a Childrens show. Lionel Richie, Dwayne Johnson, loads really but I don't say, no point - it was a job. The main thing I loved was BAFTA which I was a part of which is the equivalent to The Academy Awards in the US, but then circumstances changed and it got too much so gave that up. Premieres, Red carpet you name it, I've been there. But everything I've done I've kept low key - I have worked hard quietly but it's hard to bust through to the top. It's not what people think at all. I've been around along time - but I think 'my' time is now. Hope so..x did you see the Community Page on my channel? I'm a finalist for Woman of the Year 2021 (w&h) - that in itself is a massive achievement, so things are slowly surfacing now.x sorry for any typos it's 23.21 here in England so time for 😴.

The Ray of Light era is considered a turning point in Madonna’s life and career. She finally got the gift of motherhood that she longed for with the birth of Lourdes Leon in October 1996 and she found spiritual enlightenment in Hinduism and Ashtanga yoga..Her music during this time had a sense of rebirth, new energy and full of hope. That primal scream towards the end of the song as the bright sun was rising behind in the backdrop was like a baby’s first cry coming out of the womb-a cry of freedom from darkness and confinement into open space, light and fresh air-so symbolic and full of meaning. My favorite version of this song was her electrifying live performance 10 years later in 2008 at Buenos Aires during the Sticky & Sweet tour (released by the Madonna channel on KZbin) where she energized 60,000 to 70,000 adoring fans at the River Plate soccer stadium-her visual backdrop in huge screens was like the Big Bang birth of the universe with galaxies and stars exploding in bright bursts of light and energy instead of the busy city life in the original music video. The huge audience was simply overwhelmed by the audio-visual spectacle, and after the number they lustily chanted Ma-don-Na!! Again and again in rhythmic unison like they’re serenading her until she came out for the next number; at first she couldn’t make out what they’re chanting but when she realized it was her name, Madonna laid on her back in the center of the stage (that’s projecting to the middle of the audience) and she extended her right hand up with the microphone to capture and acknowledge their chanting-it was a memorable sight to see. Hi Psyche. Here I am. Firstly, I absolutely love your hair. Secondly, that color looks GREAT on you 😃. Thirdly, about this video and where I was at this point in my life when this album came out. How I can go through my entire life almost on my Madonna journey (musical journey) is absolutely crazy isn’t it? Lol 😆. This album was released on the 5th anniversary of my brothers death. I was having a hard time back then. A very hard time. I didn’t connect with this song immediately as much. I did with Frozen and Power of Goodbye but all I did was cry with those. I kind of had to wait awhile for Ray of Light as a whole to catch up to me to grow as a person. Isn’t it amazing how hard life can be and how hard art can affect ones journey. I was so much younger and I still have trouble with his passing. Then my dad passed in 98. More sorrow, but I learn more each and every day. I love music and I love your reactions and your spirit. Thanks so much darling. You’re the best ❤️😘🌈❤️

Hello my dearest CK - First, thank you so much for sharing this part of your life with me - I 'really' appreciate it very much, because to me, half way to recovering is by expelling your feelings from your heart and out into the Universe. People should never be afraid of saying how they feel - never. It's just aiming your sadness and expelling of it to the right people and right environment - THAT actually is the challenge, not actually saying what needs to be said. It's interesting reading your story, because how you felt was actually in line to your feelings about the songs mentioned. Ray of Light would not have been the correct time to listen to it, as your life was not in that mode i.e. Ray Of Light mode. It was deeply sombre with a fractured heart at losing your brother, only to then be compounded by even more fracturing, 'almost' but not completely to the point of no repair, when your father passed. The Power Of Love and Frozen, is 'exactly' what you felt. You became 'Frozen' to all that had bestowed you and felt completely cut off from anything warm, because all that enveloped you with warmth had somehow disappeared, and this song is in keeping with that emotion. The 'Power of Love' is also coupled with 'Frozen' as it showed you, through your sadness, how much the people you lost meant to you - so it's sort of like a coin CK, they became one currency........i.e. head/tails but one coin, yet two sorrowful hits! As you emerged from the darkness, Ray of Light presented itself at the right time, as a guide to what can and could be and to be strong enough to capture that sun rise and go for it.....and you have. And if I look at it more deeply Ray of Light has been a 'clever' compass in your life in that it showed you that you had 'some catching up' to do hence the video was in double speed showing your in a weird but wonderful way, even if you weren't aware of it, how much has been going on whilst you have been in the pit of despair. I'm deep so I hope you understand what I am saying. You have blossomed into the beautiful human being that you are and will continue to be. CK, life throws us curveballs and things that just do not make sense, and no one and I mean no one can really answer why. Your brother and dear Father never left you - just their bodies, but their souls, they are with you always and forever and they see me writing this now. Remember, everything happens for a reason - our paths meeting - maybe me writing this is a way of them telling you all is ok and that they want you to live your life to the max. You are kind, thoughtful and supportive and I believe one does not need to know another person for a lifetime to really capture the essence of that person. You know in seconds what a person is about, when you or 'one' is honest and pure about their feelings and their judgment of the person before them. You have embraced me with absolute love and respect unconditionally. The only thing I know is that if you are still here to tell the story, then you have mastered the art of surviving, and that you should give yourself massive credit and you have survived and beginning to thrive sweetheart, in more ways than one. My fondness for you goes over and above the rainbow - thank you for coming into my life, and thank you for being 'You'. Psyche ❤️x (pols for any typos xx)

Hi Psyche ❤️ This may be my favorite track from M. And video for that matter. She totally transformed her sound and look during the post Evita era. I remember reading a critic prior to the release of the ROL album, “can Madonna still do it?” was the headline. Well I think she proved she could and more. I love her “radiant “ look in this video and I consistently listen to this during cardio! When she accepted the VMA she said there were multiple treatment styles for the video- one with her head spinning around 😂 I think they went with the right one! Awesome reaction 👏👏 love your hair 😍

You are here today, you have come through whatever it was, and there may still be work to do on self, I don't know, but, the bottom line is is that the experience would have made you stronger, wiser, and shows you're a fighter. Put another way, even though that experience affected you, it didn't affect you enough to ignore coming on here and supporting 'me'. You could have stayed away, but you did't and even though you may think it's a small thing, it is actually a big thing because it shows that you haven't taken out your sadness on something or someone else who does not know your circumstance. Trust me compared to whats happening to me now, with my mom being sick now in 2021. And me loosing my husband to covid and my sister to an embolism 26 days of each other back in 2020. '98 life was a bowl of cherries compared to now. I try to seek comfort in therapy. Most importantly in God.
