@Karl Pilkington It's all the way through but it constitutes about 2 bars worth of music. The melody for the verses and chorus are completely different. I love Abba's Gimme Gimme Gimme but it is very, very different to Hung Up. So huge props to Madonna for taking an Abba riff and making it into an entirely new song. And, unlike Gimme, Madonna's not doing abjection and despair. Well of course not!

Anyone who lived through the 80's and 90's can testify that Madonna is an actual living legend! Her contributions to paving the way for anyone who didn't want to conform to the strict booths of society's somewhat conservative expectations at the time were significant, and I think it's hard for the youngest of us to realize just how important Madonna was in that aspect. She truly broke the mold (or mould if you're british lol). She IS the Queen of pop.

Madonna's "Hung Up" is a timeless dance floor anthem that proves she's still the queen! 👑💃 The infectious beat and that classic ABBA sample make it impossible not to groove along. It’s like she’s saying, “I’m not done yet-let’s party!” 🎉 The energy in this video is electric, and her iconic style just keeps getting better. If you’re not dancing like it’s 2005, are you even living? 🎶✨

Alright Theres a lot of drama going in the comments about this song. So, the original song that the riff was taken from was ABBA's "Gimme Gimme Gimme (A man after midnight) The following below was taken from Google. "Madonna has revealed that she wrote a letter to the members of ABBA begging to use their music on one of her tracks. The star wanted permission to sample the Swedish pop titans' massive 1979 disco hit 'Gimme, Gimme, Gimme (A Man After Midnight)' for her latest single 'Hung Up', out on November 7." When I did my research to clear things up. Yes. Madonna DID NOT steal from ABBA. She got permission from the songwriters (Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus) to use the sample to her own song. So yeah Long story short Madonna got permission from ABBA to use the sample.
@christerjohanzzon3 жыл бұрын
Man, id she would of used this track without permission...it would of been obvious anyway. This sound is ABBA iconic. She would of been sued so fast... Björn and Benny created many iconic sounds in their days, many that are still used by todays artists in various remixed ways. Titans be titans!

Than Whitney Houston's cover of I will always love you is more about Dolly Parton's talents than Whitney , since that's a full cover a d it was written by Dolly and produced for Whitney by other people, unlike Madonna, Whitney never wrote it produced any of her material. and let's talk about Madonna's dance talent in the video, she does a great dance routine just weeks after she fell off her horse and was still in pain and was told by doctors not to dance for months, Madonna felt she needed to dance for the video, even in pain, with broken bones still not healed

@@patricioalves1060 no, she didn't. You think a specific song intro is worth most of the money she would've made from the album. Its not as if she makes a crazy amount like a hundred million from one album. Check out the top paid entertainers yearly and you'll see that while they make huge money that's everything they did for a year. And their entire life revolves around going from one thing to the next all day that either gets them paid or doing promotions which the long run get them paid also. So, if an artist made 40 million in one year what percent of that came from a new album and what percent came the things she was doing every other day, interviews pay amd they do them constantly, endorsements and investments make up a huge portion. If she made 15 million off the album does it make sense that she'd front millions for an intro to 1 of 12 songs. To me it sounds insane.
