Skystars is for me the perfect balance between cost and quality

The firmware mixup issues are a real shame, Skystars is otherwise really good. They work very closely with the devs from all the various FPV software projects, and the hardware overall is really high quality

FYI the red KM55A have always been AM32, the older blheli32 model was called KM55 (no "A") and had a black heatsink.

Skystars has been my go to stack for my builds for a while now. They make awesome boards and are reasonably priced. Underrated imo.

been running skystar AM32 20x20 for 3 years now on my 2 main freestyle 5in. Never burned one or broke. the same stack for 2 years on different frames.

I have every skystars esc they make, ive even run 2207 2700kv motors on 6s, plus I'm extremely abusive, they just don't die!!! I have had issues with thier FCs though... I found my favorite stack is a skystars esc with a Jhemcu f722 repinned to it

@@DigitalCruzer agree, I think it is one of the best ESC on the market no mater the money

It's good to hear that they're doing quality work, considering how reasonable their prices are.

Excellent brand, I run this FC on my main quad with a different esc, despite the ammount of crashes and abuse it still runs perfectly

If I reluctantly ordered an AM32 stack and got a BL-heli 32 Stack instead, I would be ecstatic, over the moon, happier than a pig in shit!

Can no longer update BLHeli-32 if it’s got older firmware though

I've been running skystars for years, they are the hands down most durable esc made, imo, even better then hobbywing or fettec by far! i prefer Jhemcu f7s though but they have to be repinned to the esc

i actually just bought the HD Pro4 a month ago. First time trying SS...having said that i did have to calibrate the voltmeter in BF as it was reading low 1v already AND Im currently tuning the amp meter now which was WAYYYY off (and annoying i have to do out of the box). Otherwise it seems to be doing fine, running it on a 10"

Just a heads up! Ian said that there's nothing wrong with the double layered PCB on the mini esc, but it caused me difficulty mounting it, i had to put extra nuts on my standoffs to raise it higher so it couldn't strike the center arm screws, but then the stack was too tall for the frame... So there is definitely something wrong with doing that, and i had to get a different stack!

Have the Skystars f7 mini and if it had Bluetooth built in like speedybee would still be using it. The bluetooth is good setup to have.

So glad you mentioned the bec switch for vtx on off and gps, so many people i speak to on my channel are scared off by mamba 4th gen as they all have a switch and mamba put PINIO SETTINGS. I was amazed that people didnt realise that PNIO is just selecting your value range and aux channel. I love the fact you can swirch the bec off, brilliant idea!! Thanks for your review❤🫡💯

I'm looking forward to your am32 firmware flash video. I got a BLheli_32 ESC with a test version on it that can't be configured, and need to get am32 installed.

I ordered 6 AM60 ESCs and 5 of them have latest bl32.

I have the 20x20 stack and I'm pretty sure the vtx switch is only a pit switch on the 20x20 rather than an actual on/off switch like on the 30.5x30.5 flight controller.

I don't see this particular stack on their website anymore. Can't even find the HD Pro 4 FC anywhere.. :(

This or the Axisflying F7 Pro mini stack? Both are 20x20 stacks and offer 55A and AM32? Or the Flywoo GOKU F722 Pro mini? It has more connectors but only 45A ESC.

Does the 20x20 flight controller have the vtx on/off with a switch option like the bigger one?

I bought two h743 hd dual gyro FC's. Both made the analog feed dark through the OSD pass through, like there is too much resistance. No reply from skystars on the matter.

Are they just Mamba copies or collaborating?
@jiatan_fpv29 күн бұрын
At 1:52 you seem to be implying they are special in using an LDO to provide 3V3? All the FCs do, that's just how you get 3V3 from USB vBus/5V. If anything, they are using some AMS1117 clone (AZ1117R, E17E engraving), there are much better regulators on the market. But they're using 5A rated buck switchers (MP9447), although with laughable 200kHz to 650kHz switching frequency - at least the O3 won't brown out!

Sky Stars and speedybee are the 2 best FC STACKS out there. I love the fact that sky Stars conformally coated their FC for no worries landing in wet grass. I see bluejay configurator has am32 and blheli_s to configure your ESC to bluejay

Im sorry but I had terrible experiences with my KM55a 20x20 stacks. Between the quad trying to turtle mode in my hands whilst unarmed, the vtx pit mode switch turning the video off but not back on until its power cycled, and also very weak esc's for racing purposes, having the esc burn when doing betaflight motor re ordering/direction change (between myself and different people), whilst plugged into betaflight. And also just very bad QC and/or firmware issues, I cannot and will not in good confidence recommend another one of these stacks to anyone looking to get into racing, and also freestyle. The esc's also do not fit into a standard switchback pro/lightswitch sized frame, the standoffs will butt into the esc power pad layout. I cannot speak as to the quality of their 30x30 stacks as I have not used them, but I know of people that are happy with some of them. But please if you value not having to buy multiple sets of these to use in your racing rigs and swopping out an esc every 1st or 2nd race day, stay away from the 20x20 stacks.
