Hi. I live by a reservoir and make long exposure photos of fallen trees in the water often. I must say, as usual, your shots are completely out of this world. I love them.

Great video - a good reminder that amazing locations and conditions are not always necessary to get gorgeous images! The colour version of the 3rd image is my favourite. I think it's because of the diminishing perspective created by the cracks and texture of the logs.

One trick I use to get everything in focus but with a blurred background is to focus stack with a shallow depth of field, that has often helped me eliminate distractions in the background

Mads, thank you so much for posting this video. You hit the nail on the head for me with regard to lack of motivation in bad weather. Hopefully your inspiration will get me out shooting this weekend. I like the second photo with the complex sky the best. For me the strong diagonal is a nice feature

The first moody because of the drama and sense of scale, and the third moody because of the unique angle and effort to get the shot. And I, too, get tired of "rain and half-assed snow"! What a great line, Mads!!

Besides the beautiful images you created, more importantly you explained the need to push yourself to get out and find a composition. In this case you were successful, in others you may not. But trying either a style of photography (ICM, long exposure, B&W) or a subject given the ‘dull’ conditions can often be very rewarding as you’ve proven. Keep exploring and put yourself out there - that’s the Tip! Thanks,

I slipped onto my back in the Lake District, slid downhill 12 metres before hitting a rock foot first. Unscathed luckily as soft grass under my back. Still got a photo, which was a bonus, albeit it was of rainfall and the grey sky above. Yes, there's ALWAYS a photo to be had!

If I absolutely had to choose which I liked best, I'd have to just close my eyes and say eeni meeni meinie moe. And whichever one I landed on, I'd pick. They're all absolutely fantastic. I love black and white, but to me, the moody photos do "pop" a little more. But again, they're all superb! I'm definitely gonna head out the next dreary day! No more excuses!! LOL

Hi Mads, well edited video. I like the sloshing noise of the water against the perfect still. I prefer the black and white serie. And also the first of the three. You have a great skill in previewing what you can add in the editing. Got inspired to re-sttudy your masterclass photoshop, I already did but in which I got stuck. Photoshop is not my thing. I postpone as long as I can to work with. But since with some help of a photo friend I successfull did a montage for an exhibiton of our photoclub, I am more interested and a bit more skilled. I will persevere in using Photoshop. Thanks for your inspiratieo, cheers, Bert.

Mads, thanks for this. These are some of your very best pix in my opinion; they "rival" those amazing drone shots of woodlands in fog (and others). Had you shown the monochrome pix first, I would have thought those Brilliant (and they are). But those blue-silver ones (especially the initial one but all three) are extra-terrestrial (Out of this World); some of the best pix I have seen on YT. I have watched you for a long while but am unsure if I have ever posted to your channel. So, briefly, I shall say you are in my top-tier of YT landscape toggers. Others in that tier include Simon Baxter & Meg (Woodlands), Joe Cornish (he does not have a channel but can be found on YT in various vids), Thomas Heaton, Adam Gibbs, Jason Jones, James Popsys, Nigel Danson, Gavin Hardcastle and so on... might seem a lot but there are hundreds of landscapers on YT - I am subscribed to over 200. I hope you don't think me patronizing if I comment on your astoundingly good English. I don't know what Danish pupils learn in school or if you studied English later or if you have British relatives but your use of the English language (British version) is actually far-better than many native speakers. (You even have the slang "Wellies" for Wellingtons, for example). Anyway, it makes you easier to follow than some native Brits, who are less adept at English than you. So, thank you very much and a belated Happy and healthy 2025 to you. Cheers.

I loved all 3 photo's but I have a preference for the 3rd one due to the fantastic colours on the two tree trunks in the foreground. That one should definitely be a colour photo because of that. The other ones can also be B&W. However, the B&W ones look like a bit "niche" to me, I hope you get what I mean by that. :)
