Correct, Dhandapani sir! And they fit in so well with Periyazhwar's praising of Lord Srimannarayana! You seem to be a huge TNS fan. I have a few questions for you: 1) Are you a disciple of Sri TNS or a rasikA of SEshAgOpAlan gANam? 2) How long have you been listening to his music? 3) When was the first time you attended his concert? 4) What are the characteristics that define his music? 5) Have you seen him live? 6) What is his legacy? @@JayramSataluri . I have been listening to his music for the last around 32 years. I m only a Rasika. In raga alapana and Pallavi singing, he is second to none. He has vast repertoire of krithis. I have association with a lot of musicians who acknowledge his eminence. Once I was coming with MSG sir after finishing a concert of a musician who is no more in which the former accompanied. During the course of conversation he told me that in his opinion TNS is the best of vocalists as of then. How can anybody dispute the opinion of a person of MSG stature. In Swaram singing, he is the king and if I may say so with due reverence to other musicians, he is matchless. Further while coming out after performance in BVB at Chennai, MSG sir asked me did you listen to TNS concert relayed by AIR yesterday.

Glad to read about your love for TNS gANam, Dhandapani sir. I too have been fortunate to listen to his music for as long as you have. I never got to see him in the 1970s and 1980s, but I did see him live at the Sri Venkateswara Temple Auditorium, New Jersey, USA in 1998 when he was still in his prime with the accompaniment of a young S Varadarajan and Palani Kumar. He mesmerized us all with a brilliant 4 hour concert. I vividly recall the Sri rAga varNam, Vandanamu Raghunandana, ennALLUrakE, svara rAga sudhA, hindOLaM RTP and Sindhubhairavi thillana. He seemed to be so in love with Subha pantuvarALi that he did an elaborate neraval and swarams at sati mATan(A)lakinci sad-bhakta kOTula. I don't recall if he did grahabhedham for SankarAbharaNaM and hindOLaM, but both rAgams were masterful in their own right; Although his voice declined due to age and overuse, he is and will remain a musical colossus who bridged tradition and modernity. Following legends like GNB and BMK to name a few, he forged his own path and brought the best of the South Indian classical music/Sampradaya music. No wonder senior artists like MSG spoke highly about him. My pranams to TNS🙏.

I was told it is not Lalgudi on violin. Are you absolutely sure it's him? I definitely think Palghat Raghu is on mridangam as well. Getting to this concert, what is your favorite krithi? I must apologize in my delay of responding to you.

@@JayramSataluri Not an issue sir. I initially felt it was Lalgudi Sir on the Violin. Mridangam there is absolutely no doubt that it is Raghu Sir. My favourite krithi was Yaare Ranga in Hindolam. What a spellbound rendition by the Master _/\_

@@JayramSataluri Sir, I was introduced to his music when I was a young boy. Was very excited to hear him first. Very few musicians can match that level of skill and mastery. A legend in every sense of the word.

The first time I listened to him was 2 commercial albums where he sang Aparadamulanniyyu and Bala Gopala in the first one released by Sangeetha and all Rama krithis in the second album called Sri Rama Nama Pravaham released by AVM. I got to see him live in 1998 with S Varadarajan and Palani Kumar and he was breathtaking. That Shubhapantuvarali, Shankarabharanam and Hindolam he rendered were out of this world.

Narendranath not qualified to listen tns. It would take some experience to listen these golden music I am a noted mridhangam vidwan who has accompanied his concerts in the gulf . Pls do not pass such comments

And I have concerts of Shri TNS which are pure Gold for me. You play your Mridangam and do not judge who is qualified .I am entitled to my opinion
