I am following his music for the past 50 years. As mentioned by famous music critic Subbudu, he is the pole star of Sampradaya Music. A genius totally.

@@JayramSataluri In late1960s, I attended the Narasimha utsavam conducted by Pudukkottai Brahmasri Gopala Krishna Bhagavathar. He was participating in the bhajan singing and playing Harmonium. Voice was like nectar. Then in 1970 or 1971, I again saw him performing in a Bhajan at Srirangam. The main piece he sang that day was Oothukadu Venkatakavi's famous ஆடாது அசங்காது வா கண்ணா.the entire audience was mesmerised. I requested him to come to our house and sing a couple of songs since our grand mother being very old unable to come. He readily agreed and came and sang for about 70Minutes with Harmonium and a local person on Mirudangam. Heavenly experience. I remember even today the songs. Swagatham Krishna in Mohanam, venkatesa in Madyamavathi, Nama Bhajan Kyon choudhiyaa in Subha pantu varali, Hari bolo in Desh, the first ashtapathi in Ragamaalika ( I even today after 50 years, remember it). My friend had booked him for a marriage concert in our street in early 1970s. In my view he is God of Music. Whether it is aalaapana, rendering of kruthi, neraval or swaraprastharam, he is always at the top . He is the repository oh Harikesanallur Bhagavathar's keerththanaas, Ooththukadu Venkatakavi's songs. His open throated singing is excellent. No " lip singing and speaking rahasiyam with mike". U can go on saying.

@@raghunathansrinivasaraghav6455 sir, thanks for sharing these valuable memories. You were very lucky to see and meet the young TNS before he became a legend. His repertoire and brilliance can't be overstated enough. I have been fortunate to listen to his music when he was in his prime and saw him live at the Sri Venkateswara Temple Auditorium, New Jersey, USA in 1998 with the accompaniment of a young S Varadarajan and Palani Kumar. He mesmerized us all with a brilliant 4 hour concert. I vividly recall the Sri Raga Varnam, Vandanamu Raghunandana, Ennalu Urake, Swara Raga Sudha, Hindolam RTP and Sindhubhairavi thillana. Although his voice declined due to age and overuse, he is and will remain a musical colossus who bridged tradition and modernity. Following legends like GNB and BMK to name a few, he forged his own path and brought the best of the South Indian classical music/Sampradaya music. My pranams to him 🙏.

@@JayramSataluri In short, he is the musician of the millennium. In late 1970s, there was a music critic/ commentator by name Neelam Who was in Swadesamitran ( He worked with Ariyakudi Sri Ramanuja Iyengar in composing the music ( ragas) for Tiruppaavai, which holds good till today). ( My paternal uncle was also swadesa mitran). Neelam sir came to Srirangam and I took him around Temple. There was a discussion about emerging musicians. He said watch out for these two musicians. They are going to take the Sampradaya music to great heights. One was Mr TNS and the other was Maharajapuram V Santhanam It was very unfortunate MVS died in a car accident. Like what Neelam sir said both were most sought after musicians in 1980s. The famous music commentator Late Sri Subbudu on hearing his Concert wrote that a new star has arrived and he will be the pole star (துருவ நக்ஷத்திரம்) of our Carnatic music. How true the predictions ? I pray a long healthy life for TNS sir so that present music students could benefit from his knowledge.
