We are empty nesters and often have leftovers. When there are only small amounts left I use them to make homemade TV Dinners. I use 2 9 inch Styrofoam plates for stability and the plates slide easily into a gallon size freezer bag. The first night I add maybe a Pork Chop. That was all that was left. 2 nights later I might have a serving of green beans. Then the next night I might add a serving of potatoes. I like to add a meat, starch and 1 to 2 vegetables to every plate. If it's a leftover casserole with meat, I usually only add a vegetable. I just keep the plate in the freezer and keep adding to it until I get a full plate. This keeps me from wasting food, plus I have home-cooked meals to pull out when I cannot cook. Maybe try that. We get enough that we share 8 to 10 meals every couple weeks with our elderly neighbor who can no longer cook every night for himself. When he does not feel like cooking for himself he just pulls out one of my meals. I save cottage cheese and sour cream containers to put soups, chilis and stews. I just add a piece of masking tape on the lid to label what's in the container and we just wash them. To reheat we just slide the food onto microwavable dinnerware and throw the styrofoam plates away.

That’s a great idea! And how sweet of you to share with your neighbor. I’m sure he appreciates it

If you like baked beans and he doesn't then just buy the little 16oz heat-and-eat container of them from the deli. They have them with and without brisket in it and they're very good. Gives you like 2-3 servings.

I watch from England. I love your videos. As a foreigner, I would like to understand about yams and marshmallows. Is this a dessert…or do you eat it with the dinner 🤯 😂? It must be even sweeter than cranberry sauce….I like cranberry sauce and chicken!

It’s eaten with dinner. It is very sweet and basically a dessert, that’s why I usually make a small one and eat a small portion. Cranberry sauce and chicken sounds delicious!

I find it interesting that you use boiled eggs instead of raw in your dressing. May I ask why or what’s the difference between the two in this recipe?
@MaegensKitchen Жыл бұрын
The eggs aren’t being used as a binder in the dressing. They’re more for texture and flavor. The dressing doesn’t need raw eggs to hold it together.

@@MaegensKitchen oh ok thank you for clarifying that for me. I should try it your way , because it sounds yummy

The Thanksgiving dinner looked delicious! For me the cranberry sauce is the best part, it’s really the only reason to have turkey in my opinion. Even better is a turkey sandwich with mayo and cranberry sauce on like a French roll.
