A very interesting and unique engine. Thank you Leonard 👍

Oh, you lucky, lucky man! I last saw one of these on display in a Boppard hotel, along with some other veteran Maerklin steam ship models.

This is the top cream of live steam from a toy train co. In 20volt version in would be Maerklin Nr. HR 12921 ! A friend of mine has one , and I have admired it for many years since it is displayed in his living rom.

Really like live steam trains….. I own a 1 Gauge Ruby that I love. I want to get into O Gauge Live Steam. Excellent train you have there.

0 gauge live steam has a VERY small following, that's a fact. Do you know anybody who runs in this scale. Ruby runs on 45mm track - usually - but it's 1/20.3 scale, not 1/32nd.

@@tacfoley4443 check out the british videos from Dave Robinson. They have a()n 0 (O) gauge live steam "club" with coal fired models - considered to be watchmakers works (all self builds)

Hi Leonard, my goodness that was fast paced, i'm dizzy and out of breath watching haha. i thought it funny you called the smoke deflectors elephant ears as we call them blinkers (like a race horse). Great video, you can have a lie down now to recover.😁

Yes she really flies

'Elephant ears' was a nickname used in Germany for the full sized fittings. Here in GB we call them 'smoke deflectors' or 'smoke lifters', which is what they were for.

It's a nice piece. You might want to look into the pilot truck. The rear wheel set near the first driver doesn't seem to turn well, and the engine seems to be pitched up. It could just be the radius of the track or a tracking issue in the pilot truck.

I'm sure it would appreciate a much larger circle to run on

Thank you for sharing! NOTE: Your "steam blow down" is a valve for letting water pumping in the boiler!. On the side of this engine you have a water pump! (the boutton is missing) This time the oiler seems to work well, as I'm not a fan of this type of oiler (same for the cups ind front, like the Wilesco model steam engines, they just prime it once with oil an then you run dry... BUT Mamods 1. st loco even haven't one - you need to oil from the outside.) Does the manometer works? (often they get stuck - vinegear and ultrasonic can help BUT you need to remove the dial/face and needle - perhaps more a watchmakers task... xD) I love tin plate steam esp. in gauge O but sure this is also a very fine loco! Cordial greetings! Géréon

Thank you for the additional information The meter could use a little help. Next time I tear it apart I'll do some cleaning on it.
