is the mill bit grounded ? Is there a ground wire to the mill for auto z-height etc. so it will not require the alligator clip on the mill each time ?

Mafell milling motors, such as the FM 1000 PV-WS, are double-insulated. On double-insulated tools, an internal layer of protective insulation completely isolates the external housing of the tool. Thus there is no need for a separate grounding of the milling motor.

@@MafellGermany Please read full comment not first 5 words. I am not asking if I need to ground it for safety reasons I am asking if there is a separate connection for easy z-height find.

​@@nitacawo As the machine has a double insulation and thus no electric connection from spindle to electronic, there unfortunately is no possibility to connect a z-height sensor at the front of the motor. You will have to use a separate wire. Hope that helps answering your question.
