Almost much every Mafex is better than it’s Marvel Legends counterpart, but the question is always whether or not it’s better enough to warrant the difference in price. This is a case where it’s absolutely worth it! Definitely the best Magento figure ever made at 6 inch scale, and it isn’t close IMO
@shoto7948 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Hasbro imo doesn't have a single great magneto after all these years
@rulyarmaghetto Жыл бұрын
If a $70-$80 figure is beat by a $20-$25 it must suck. Lol I don’t compare Legends and Mafex without considering the price. But even after all that this is STILL the best Magneto ever.
@juansanchez209 Жыл бұрын
@@shoto7948 Agreed. I think the Legends Wolverine is better than the Mafex Tiger Stripe Wolverine (too tall, lanky, and the claws are too long). I think the Legends VHS Cyclops is about as good as the Mafex Cyclops (just the figures themselves, the Mafex obviously has better accessories). But this Mafex Magento completely blows any Legends Magneto out of the water!

Best Magneto figure on the market by a longshot. Awesome review!... ... does no one watch Sharts vids anymore??? His views have been super low for like a year now! What happened??? Sharts videos were an easy 100k for views back in the day. Now it seems like he's lucky to get 10k... he was a damn near a celebrity a few years back... poor Shart... let's get his views back up guys!
@chewymew Жыл бұрын
It's ultimately the KZbin algorithms that have decided Shart's videos aren't going to be pushed as much or anymore. It could be due to Shart never changing his content ever, so it's favouring newer channels like Displaying Model Behaviour. Dave's reviews more editing and a face cam throughout it (I'm not saying one is better than the other, I like both), that's why Dave's tinier channel is getting views on par with Shart's. The other issue is Shart's been doing it for so long that most of his earlier subscribers don't watch or even lost access to their accounts. Probably the biggest factor is that most kids (in reality, kids are the biggest viewers of action figure videos) don't care about action figures anymore.

Also he's been posting a ton of figures I only watch ones I'm interested in
@Glenjutsu13 ай бұрын
I'm know I'm like a year or two late lol. But a few other reasons is for one, people still collect figures but since Hasbro uas been spiking the prices on some of their figures a lot of people I know personally have stopped collecting or just cut down altogether collecting. So they're not as interested in figures as much as they once were. I for one had sold all my figures i had close to 400 figures and sold them all and just stopped collecting. And once I sold them all I had just stopped caring about any of the things that had to do with figures. Whether it was videos, posts, comments, pictures etc etc. Secondly, I guess you had never seen that video where in a sense Shart was pretty much begging for views lol. Idk if he still has the video on his page you're free to go look through his videos if you'd like. But he pretty much made a video about views and money and how he needed more views because other than KZbin giving the occasional drum lessons was the only way he was making extra the money. And that his videos was like the only source of income in his home and he has a wife and two kids to take care of. And everyone was pretty much jumping on his a$$ telling him that he needed to instead of asking for views to get a real job! Well hold on, he was actually asking for donations on his patron account, thats what it was if I'm not mistaken. And everyone in the comments was getting on his back about it. Because pretty much everyone else who reviews figures like Boog, Jay Hernandez, and most othe reviewers actually have jobs but review figures on the side and don't make reviewing toys their primary source of income. Don't get me wrong I like Shart aka Russ, but when I saw that video I was like man he should get a side hustle or something if it's actually getting that hard for him. But it kinda made a big deal in this community I'm surprised that you didn't see it lol. Even other people were talking about him asking for donations to support his hobbie and family. It was so bad that he even made a follow up video saying that he wasn't necessarily asking for donations in that sense but was doing it because he fell behind on bills or something like that if I'm not mistaken. But why do you think he always says that he's going to sell some figurines whenever there's a HasLab or something big about to come out? And by no means am I trying to bad mouth him at all! I think he's a cool dude from what I see on KZbin, but I don't know him personally to say whether he is or not. But I saw a lot of people talking about him pretty much begging for donos in different places. I'm part of the Marvel Legends Collectors group on Facebook and there was a big group of people even talking about him on there! There was a lot of guys saying that they were done with his videos because he was begging for money to support his hobbies instead of getting an actual job like everyone else does. I know that this is too much for just collecting toys in the end but it really happened lol. It's almost like a Toy Soap Opera or something with everything lol. But yeah, there were a lot of people turned off by that I guess is what I'm ultimately trying to say lol. Shoot, I think even Boog said something about it if I'm not mistaken as well. Notice I keep saying "If I'm not mistaken" because I don't want to accidentally give out the wrong information. But you can try to look it up if you want if he hasn't taken the video and the subsequent follow up video down. And if this comment disappears then you know tbat someone took it down because they didn't want anyone to post about that situation👀😬lol.

Id ask displayers of this figure to not complely unfold and straighten his cape (by all means pose, but keep the deep creases and wrinkles). I didnt realize that Mafex had it pretty much folded and creased near perfectly right out the box, especially for the shoulders to billow. First Mafex here. They are on a whole different level. Bought 3 of these. By the way catfood isnt bad!

The cape and the shaded head look freaking amazing. Gives me X-Men Evolution vibes. However, I'd rather than a Byrne version of Magneto than a Jim Lee version, so I'm a bit conflicted if I want this or not.

My biggest issue with the Mafex X-Men in general is the scale. The shot of them all lined up illustrates the problems: Wolverine is too tall. Cyclops is too short. Jean and Psylocke have weird proportions. Magneto is 6'2"; Gambit and Cyclops are 6'3", so they should all be about the same height. Then they're all too short compared to Marvel Legends if you want them in a Marvel Legends display, except for Wolverine, who is still too tall. I know that all sounds nitpicky, and Hasbro messes up scale as well, but when your line is supposed to be designed based on exact 1/12 scale, you'd better live up to that.
