The arms pop out super easy like that because the Mafex 'Suit Version' Joker comes with a straitjacket that you can use for this guy...pop the arms off, take off the coat and put the straitjacket on. Similar to how the 'Dress Version' Harley comes with the alt. heads for the regular Harley. Strange how Mafex includes accessories for figure 'A' with figure 'B'.

I'm right there with you when it comes to wanting a shirtless Joker (boy, that's an odd thing to say. . . ). As you took the figure out of the package, I was thinking how Mafex should have just gone the rest of the way and finished up the tattoos, added sleeveless arms, and been the only company with the shirtless look, as of now anyway. Hopefully they do end up doing as you guessed and add sleeveless arms later.

The next mafex joker does include alternate arms in a way, the straight jacket that comes with it is actually for this figure which is why the arms come out so easily and the trench coat is removable I assume

You mean you don't like the Mezco soft goods? I got the BvS Batman and it is phenomenal! like a hot toys 6" figure that can easily replace SH and Mafex if they can keep their QC in check. Plus, the sculpt and details on Mezco one are far superb compared to Mafex's batman. You just need to sacrifice a little bit of your wallet and get one in your hand to see which one is better. We just have to wait and see how they go.

The pop out of the socket on the arms is so that you can give him his straight jacket that is a pack in with another MAFEX figure, but I'm not sure which one...

Yeah, and a purple surgical glove right hand since he was wearing that there too. But yeah, it's the look they used throughout the trailers and it's a big turning point in the movie, on top of being such an easy thing to do on this figure.

The Fwoosh Somehow, for unknown yet odd reason, Goodsmile Company end up being the one that decided to adapt that design into their Nendoroid line. Not sure if they just think the image of Joker preparing shock therapy on Harley was visually cute.

I'm looking forward to this figure. Passed on the SHF but decided to roll the dice on both Mafex jokers. Holding my breath. But I haven't heard anything bad about this one yet. Sorta wish they had an alternate jacket piece but joker isn't that dynamic. He mostly skulks around in this look.

Glad you take the bullet for us. :) I've been eyeing off SHF Harley and this MAFEX Joker as they're my preferred looks... but I gotta say, the selling points for me on this one have not delivered. The hands behind head and laughing hand to face limitations plummet it from a figure that ticked the boxes for me, to one that may as well be a Joker statue... :/ Damn. I liked Leto's Joker just as a visual (along with Harley, but she also had the wonderful Margot Robbie... a fellow Australian to me... play her really well), but this is not delivering for me. :( Which makes me sad. Still, I need to track down a SHF Harley... never caught her anywhere for pre-order. And still need to get that SHF Tony Stark just because he looks so cool.

I was lucky and grabbed a SHF Harley on HLJ right before release after I missed the original pre-order window, but even that batch of pre-orders didn't last long. And then of course HLJ went on holiday and now I'm still waiting for mine, haha, my luck. After messing around I was able to get the hand closer to the face and the hands a little more on the head with the screaming face, the socket on it is a little bigger so it gets more forward shift than the other head.

I read on Medicom's blog that Harley and Joker are the first time they're using digital face printing tech. Here's hoping it carries over for the rest of their figures in the future especially with Rey coming up in the next couple of months.

As of right now I don't know about alternate arms but the mafex suited joker will have an alternate body for this one which is a straight jacket. What are your opinions on the Figuarts joker? The one in the silver jacket and red shirt.

That's the one I meant when I said I thought it was boring looking. I got the suits mixed up between the Figuarts and the second MAFEX. But I just don't like the head on the SHF at all. And I didn't realize the extra body with the second MAFEX went to this first one. Hmmm.

The Fwoosh yeah. It sucks though because noone can make a good joker action figure. Either the articulation sucks, they suffer from traffic cone syndrome, or are in the wrong scale. Hopefully mezco will be amazing .

I'm trying to decide on this, the SHF or the white suit MAFEX- even though chances are I'll probably still want the white tux MAFEX cause it comes with a straight jacket (and it looks nice)- but is it me or does the SHF not have the star and J tat on his face? I seen it at comic con but for some reason I can't recall those details and looking at pics, seem like he might just have the damaged tat on his head.

I can't remember if Joker is missing any tats but Harley is definitely missing the belly tattoos on the SHF, which is a weird thing to leave off after all the other details get nailed. The proto Deadshot is also missing the script around his collar.

Yeah, that is a strange tattoo to leave out. But despite that, it Harley looks amazing. I don't get the missing text on Deadshot either. I think that the script/quote gives this Deadshot a reflection on his character, maybe. But MAFEX is 50/50 most of time- but thankfully these don't sell out like new Legends or certain SHFs.

I didnt like how the figures joints kept popping out so I got the multiverse lex luther took the normal looking head from joker then I took out Luther's hands and hot glued a pair of joker hands then I sand papered luther's white shirt to look flat like skin and then matched the paint tone to the head and added tattoos templates and copied some off the mafex figure I also painted Luther's shoes black and added some red splattered paint for a blood affect

Whats up Robo? Great review as usual. I just rewatched this one for research purposes. I was curious to know if you ever got the Mafex regular Harley. I wanted to know how she sizes up with Joker. She looks a little tall to me. I have the Figuarts and she's fine. Maybe a little small. But I have the Mafex Deadshot and Knightmare Batman coming and I am trying to figure out if the Mafex Harley fits in better. Probably just looking for a reason to spend more money. But hey, what else are you gonna Do with it. At least I'm not spending it on cocaine and hookers. Well, that's what I tell myself. I tried to tell my wife that once but the joke went over her head. Ironically the frying pan didn't make it over mine. Thanks man.

Sadly the reason the arms come off is so you can put on a straight jacket that comes with the white suit joker releasing later in the year. Like you I would have preferred some bare arms instead. Mattel did the same thing giving us a 12 inch bare armed joker and six inch in trench coat.
