Also Darren for q24, you can go 19288.8/1.08 = 17860, so it's just 17860-(16239.6 x 1.08) = 224.03

I wish I knew how to get KZbin exposure too lol. Thanks so much for your kind comment. The only way I can get this more visible is if more students and teachers share the content and tell people about my site. If more teachers see it and use it then I’d be stoked. If you can share and share and share I would be most grateful!

For Q36, it's also possible to times all the numbers by -1 and continue from there. For example, for the numbers 4, 3, 6, 1 | 1 is the smallest number but also the biggest negative number -4, -3, -6, -1 | -6 is the smallest number but also the biggest positive number

For question 24, once you get 8% interest you can calculate the value of the 3rd period as 19288.8 / 1.08 = 17860 and then solve 1.08 × 16329.60 + d = 17860

While option A is indeed the correct response, I'm still confused about the reasoning for question 40. If the duration of all activities is one day, wouldn't the latest starting time for activity E be 2 days? J can't occur before G finishes, and G can't occur before E finishes. If E starts 3 days into the project, the completion time would be delayed by a day to make earliest completion 6 days. Now if activity H had a duration of 2 days, then yes, E could have a latest starting time of 3 days, so option D is still a correct statement. Am I missing something? These videos are great, and no doubt a real help to VCE students. Watching mathematics being worked important.

Hi. Thanks so much for this comment. I will take a look at it a little later, but this thing which got me initially is that the activities have a duration of "at least" one day. I sat and thought about this WAY too long! I'll bookmark this comment and when I get some time, over the next couple of days (once the Year 12's have left), I will see if I can think more clearly about your reply and the question.

I hear that a lot! Sadly people don't really spread the word about my channel or website (www.maffsguru.com) until it's too late. Perhaps you can spread the word to as many people as you can (including all the Maths teachers you know!). If Maths teachers know about my content they are more likely to recommend it. Dear Maffs Guru, From the moment our paths crossed, I knew there was something extraordinary about you, when you taught me how to CRASH (wink wink). Your wisdom in the world of mathematics is a guiding light, illuminating even the most complex problems with clarity and grace (espically financial). The way you unravel intricate theories and make them accessible inspires me daily. Every lesson with you feels like a journey-each equation we explore together opens a door to new realms of understanding. Your passion ignites a fire in me, encouraging me to dive deeper and embrace the beauty of numbers. It’s not just your brilliance that captivates me; it’s your unwavering patience and kindness that make learning such a joy. You challenge me to think critically and creatively, and for that, I am eternally grateful. In your presence, I feel a sense of belonging and encouragement that transcends the classroom. Thank you for being you-my mentor, my inspiration, and my guiding star. I cherish every moment we share and look forward to all the adventures yet to come. With all my admiration and affection, Nick

Now I wish I actually taught you in person! You would do wonders for my self esteem!!! I'm sure there are many more teachers in your life who do much more than me, but thank you. Wishing you all the very best for the rest of this academic year and for your future. Let me know if there is anything more I can do to help. Kindest Regards. Darren.

Out of interest-why don't you like the write box on the node method? Are there any situations where you feel it doesn't work as well? I've always found it very easy to apply. Thanks so much for this video. Just a little point-for Qu13 you say months, when it's 4 seasons. Answer still correct.

I have had problems in previous years finding the correct float times for some of the activities. It really frustrated me. When I was shown the edge method and it seemed to work all the time, I stuck with this. It also made more sense when teaching.

for questions 6 how did you know to use 34 and 13.5?
@MaffsGuru
@MaffsGuru 6 күн бұрын
Hi. When you were given the percentage of 81.5% there are only three percentages which will add together to make 81.5%. Hence I had to choose the two 34% and 13.5%. Does this answer your question?

hello! im wondering for question 6 how did you get 34+34 and 13.5 for the graph thing
@MaffsGuru
@MaffsGuru 15 күн бұрын
Hi. I know that the curve for a normal distribution can be split into sections. The first sections either side of the mean are 34% each etc. So, knowing which sections I want, I just use the respective percentages and add them together. Hopefully your teacher has given you the graphs split into the respective percentages. If not, I have a downloadable summary book for General Maths at www.maffsguru.com. It costs a little but might be helpful. Wishing you the best for the forthcoming exams!

other than q14, which was an obvious mistake, I only got q23 wrong bc previous examiners report said something contradictory. Would this get me a 50 if I got 100 on exam 2?
@MaffsGuru
@MaffsGuru Күн бұрын
I really wish I could answer this question. I am asked it so often :( Sadly, it's always going to be down to your SAC scores and how many other people get the whole paper correct in the state. I taught someone once who got 100% on every SAC. He dropped 8 marks across both papers and went from a 50 to a 32 and then scaled down by 2 to a 30. He and I were devastated! My best advice is to do your best. Wishing you the very best for your exams in a couple of days time :)

For qu 38 would you use this method because it's got a lot of possible cuts...rather than finding cuts and comparing? Then use min cut method when there's less possible cuts?
@MaffsGuru
@MaffsGuru 25 күн бұрын
I use it for all cut questions. I prefer to use one method which works for all rather than two different methods depending on different things. So I don’t teach the idea of cuts and just show the algorithm.

hey there im a yr 12 student going into exams in 1 month seen ur vids from the 2017 exams to now IM TERRIFIED what can i do?
@MaffsGuru
@MaffsGuru Ай бұрын
Hi! OK. So, firstly there is still time to do well in General Maths. I recommend working on 3 past papers. See how many questions from each paper you can answer. Then concentrate on those you could "sort of" answer by going back over the related theory. I have the whole course recorded on www.maffsguru.com if that might help. Then look at the questions you had no idea about. Look over the worked solutions I provide and then learn the theory. If you do 30 mins a day on revising the content and some more on doing the past papers you will do much better than you think. Stress is a massive problem as it stops the brain from processing properly. Put any worries to one side. It's not too late. Reach out if there is anything more I can do to help. Just breathe and take it one step at a time. Wishing you the very best of luck over the coming month!!!
