I remember that back in 2002 this mission was EXTREMELY difficult, even for someone like me, the biggest problem was overtaking enough cars in the first turn w/o destroying the car because otherwise catching up was almost impossible. With the latest patch, even with extreme difficulty it is quite easy to win (I replayed the game last year), but I can guarantee you that the first version was a nightmare. No wonder they had to patch it. To be honest, the whole game was a nightmare, expecially the first missions, but it was a masterpiece nonetheless.

Oh, ok. I didn't know that even extreme is easier than how it used to be. Maybe I should install the old version from CD then one day to get the real hardcore experience. :)

I remember renting this game back in the day, the majority of the time I had the game was stuck playing this level. I literally went absolutely mad trying to complete it. By the time I finally finished the level I barely could make any further progress before I had to return the game to hollywood video.

@@minignoux4566 I did the mission first try when I was 8. You just have to be at a specific distance from the train so that big smoke can actually see the vagos members. I never saw this as a hard mission. Its pretty easy

one of my earliest gaming memories is watching my dad play this game (since it's czech and so are we) and struggling hard with this race, restarting it at least 5 times until he finally won. today i randomly walked up to him and saw him still struggle with the mission to deliver the racecar, so i helped him (did it for him), and after two of his attempts i did the race too. something something master becomes student

If you enjoy that style of game, then sure. :) I am not that much into sim racing games personally but in general I think old games can still be a lot of fun. The games that you mentioned are also part of the "SimBin Mega Bundle" on Steam, which is 15 euros during a Steam sale, so it might also be worth waiting for a sale and getting them there. I actually got that bundle myself during a past sale, just in case I ever want to use any of those games in one of my large compilation videos.

His best lap is 1min *27s* 127 (starts in 6:03). I can't complete a lap below 1.29 (wich is enough to win on extreme difficulty). But that lap is just 2 seconds faster! =O Awesome! =D

I completed the story and unlocked every vehicle in the game, but I gave up on trying to do this race on anything beyond easy (which seemed to be the default difficulty). It's stupidly unfair. Great game otherwise though.

People just arent good at racing. I beat this as a kid and knew nothing about motorsport, but loved cars. I'm assuming most people who bought mafia were not expecting to do this.

When I did this in definitive edition it took me two tries. People say it's hard but I play F1 2020 so I already understood what to do. I wish it did have 5 laps like the original though I probably would've done it on my first try.
