Mafia 1 ended in a big gallery with a betrayal shootout and Mafia 2 was also the same. Mafia 3 was not entirely Czech's game so they ruined their streak. Also Mafia games have the option to kill the protagonists in the next games.

Something hit me about the title of the chapter. "Per Aspera Ad Astra." Through hardship to the stars. It's basically two levels, one is that it ends at an observatory after hiring through an army of goons, "hardship" before reaching "the stars." But also, Vito's monologue at the beginning. He dreamed of money, power, freedom, a big position in the Mob, "the stars" after a life fo hardship, such as his father dying in debt. But he didn't really reach the stars, did he? Just reached an observatory then went back down to earth. All the years, the war, prison, shootouts, hardships, nd it got him nothing. All these years and it never hit me.

We'll actually Vito got most of what he want, but there always an exchange for that, an that was his friend, Joe. (In my opinion Joe must be working with vinci is because he worked with Falcone [from mafia 3 perspective])

Well he did reach the tip-top; not that it mattered. He lost friends and family. He lost everything he would gain and made risks so big that the benefits no matter how big still stung. He got exiled from Empire Bay- not that New Bordeaux and Sal Marcano was any help.

That’s the thing, in the Criminal Underworld, anybody assosciated with a rat has the possibility of being a rat themselves. It’s not the issue on Vito’s end, its that Leo, Mr. Chu, and Frank Vinci dont know if he’s a rat or not, especially since he vouched for Henry to join Carlo’s Family. So all the questions are up in the air on that.

C Fazo That was referring to law enforcement who asked him how he got the federal ration stamps. Vito was a true Mafia guy from beginning to end. He wanted money, fame, women, etc. He didnt want to rat on the Mafia. Henry was the rat. But because Vito vouched for him, not knowing that Henry truly was a rat to the FBI, Mr. Chu and Leo couldnt trust Vito. Him killing Falcone kept him alive, if he hadnt, he was going to die. The Mafia life only has a handful of ways you leave. All of them when you stop breathing.

Ok, I have a thought here. When Vito sees Joe be driven away, Leo tells him that Joe wasn't part of their deal implying Joe was to be killed. But we don't know what was being said in Joe's car. Maybe Joe was taken to Frank Vinci's house where he was offered the same deal by Vinci who told him Vito isn't part of it. Another words, Vinci tells Joe that Vito's dead the same way Leo tells Vito that Joe's dead. Now you got two best friends thinking the other is dead. One is sent to New Bordeaux where his story is somewhat continued in Mafia III where he is basically grieving his best friend's "death" Meanwhile, the other stays in Empire Bay & becomes Vinci's driver until Vinci passes away then becomes Leo's driver all while grieving the "death" of his dear friend who unknowingly to him is still alive & Visa Versa. They were simply suppressed & put on leashes. And oh Yeah I believe Lincoln is Joe's son. Lol
