tg01millmorer Chillin is good at Mafia when he has a Mafia partner who is good at manipulating the town. Westballz being a very quite under the radar Mafia doesn’t help him at all. When all the pressure is on Chillin he starts to crack, and says too much or starts to contradict himself. Also he should have claimed Vigi. Especially for his defense. He could have argued that he didn’t come out right away because he was hoping to catch a Mafia making a fake claim. Westballz is actually very good Mafia, but there was absolutely nothing he could do after Toph checked him. At a past Summit he was the only Mafia left with like 8 people and he completely won everyone over the whole way to a win.

Dunk, Mango and Hbox had all just died, and he says "I guess Mango or Hbox could have been vigi".. but Dunk could have been vigi too, so excluding him as a possibility reveals information. He excluded him because he knew Dunk was mafia and therefore couldn't be vigi. Surprised no one caught it, I thought Ken was gonna call him out for sure.

Heya! I’ve watched every mafia from every summit & will share some longform postgame-analysis in this comment (love mafia, love the smash crew, and that love goes for both melee AND ultimate!). So if the game got you excited and you’ve already filled up on memes, dreams, and the rest of the lovely comments, we’ll deep dive without further ado… [spoilers to follow] Town MVP: Hungrybox • Grade: A+ • POG VIGI SHOT. SUPER SMART using his vigi shot early to kill Dunk, knowing that he usually dies early as a player. (Him, mango, Leffen are among the top 3 first kill targets for mafia in all of these games - sad meta for them xD). ALSO ON ONLY ONE DAY OF INFO, he got a mafia kill on the first night before dying. Straight POG POG POG moment…. It swung so much momentum for the town to have a mafia out day 1, and a confirmation of the vigi probably being mango or hbox. Not to mention there was no obvious tells, no blatant blunders from the mafia, no silly town for an easy day 1 kill, no cop assistance, no medic saves, no nothinnng - just fat reads from Hbox. He def MVPed this one, and probably will go underrated because peeps will forget the impact the first kill had on the rest of the game. Also, I’m honestly not sure I know all the reasons how Dunk became his read; though I suspect a combination of Dunk shading mango (bold move, too bold in fact lol), and Hbox riding the logic of “whoever didn’t vote is sus” (and he remembered that Dunk didn’t vote, and talked a lot)…GODDDDDDDAM what a boss move. This is one of the better hbox plays I’ve seen in summit - and ALL IN ONE DAY/NIGHT! • Other town notes: No kill day 1 for Town - not a good thing for town. Scar was the runner up for MVP, because he piggy backed off Webs call out on Chillin, and took an otherwise dead topic (chillin causing chaos and deflecting Webs question) and brought it back up at an opportune time for town. Back to back good games from Scar. Honorable mention to Toph, who cop-investigated Westballz as mafia for a sweeping victory (game was already in the bag, but Toph basically caused an early ff - snowballing is fun!) Mafia MVP: Chillin • Grade: B- • Chillin always is a loud voice in the games, and he does this consistently from game to game in a good way that keeps his role ambiguous from game to game - he is always loud xD! I think as far as delivery, demeanor, and general poker face - he played in the A to A+ range. The problem was execution and choices. He started up with a strong mafia frontman presence, faking as a town mayor of sorts with Mango dead (but Chillin was of course, actually mafia). The misplay came out on day 2 nominations, as Chillin was the only vote to kill iBDW. He needed to read the room, as multiple people said in an audible tone “well now I think he’s town” -- It would’ve been better to not vote at that point. Short after, Scar drove the narrative back to Chillin, picking up from what Webs had started, and got Chillin on the chopping block. He inappropriately used this time to remind the town of how you must vote off mafia in the day to win as a town. And while this is true and a great thing to tell town if you are trying to masquerade as a trustworthy town mayor, it was also the WORST TIME to say it, as it gave the town all the energy to confidently kill Chillin once he was nominated. This is the kind of thing he needed to say earlier when others were up on the chopping block (like when Pricent was asking why is it good or bad to kill town on the first day if you aren’t sure - spoiler alert - you want to kill every night almost, very few exceptions). That said, Chillin’s delivery and composure this game was decent, but his content and execution weren’t that great (saying the right things at the wrong time). • Westballz: Was basically a quiet mafia, and didn’t really get a chance to make plays. Did a good job going under the radar for the most part (few blips, but shrugged off the pressure from iBDW pretty well). The game was over before he could make plays though… He waited too long. • Dunk: Opened with meta-gaming a bit xD - mentioning that the reaction of people seeing their cards is a tell. People that get a town card are cheery, mafia are serious. This is usually true, and a decent place to start conversations (especially when D1 is hard to talk about). It’s a weird move as mafia to try and attack mango in the day, usually it’s best to just deal with mango by killing him in the night - he’s too powerful in the day! Thoughts on the rest of the class… • Mango: RIP - died early. Funnily enough, his mere existence got Dunk (mafia) to try to pull an early day 1 move of putting sus on mango. You don’t sus mango in the day. You do not sus mango when the sun is out. You don’t. ---- It was enough to fuel to get Hbox (vigi) to fire his shot the following night, a game winning move. Even in doing nothing, mango was a guardian angel for the town. Impressive. • Shroomed: Did a good job getting some pressure out in the mid-game, but also paired with quiet moments - pretty average game for Shroomed. • Pricent: Aiden mentioned he was a good player, but he seemed pretty quiet in the opening salvo. Also asked why kill town in the first night if not sure (which to me, removes the merit of him being a “good player”, as most good players know that killing in the day is good for town, most of the time, even if random). Need to see more from him, went quiet for the rest of the game. • iBDW: Put on the chopping block, says he doesn’t know what to say, proceeds to spit out valuable information. See a trend? Same as last game… Skip that middle part and you’ll just be a good player my man! :P • Ken: ROFL the day 2 play trying to bait a mafia out, asking for the vigi to come out - Funny. He also got some good concepts out there (forcing conversation to stay directed at times where distractions could've happened - i.e. Toph claiming cop and calling westballz mafia - forcing everyone to listen to westballz... who ended up forfeiting as the last mafia lol). • Aiden: Trying to be quiet and not draw sus since he was the medic this game (even though he is naturally suspect having been mafia every game he was in). Saving ken day 1 was a decent play, though I would also go Mango > Leffen > Hbox > Ken personally, knowing that you will be likely getting a save on Mango. Still not a bad first save, Ken is a good player. Did a good job not seeming like mafia, but didn’t make any game winning moves as medic. • Scar: Called out Chillin, and brought up the part I was angry about! Chilling did a full deflection of all the pressure Webs put on him, but THANKFULLY Scar noticed and didn’t let it slip, bringing it back up later in day2. Good shit Scar 2nd good game in a row. • Webs: Quiet, but once called upon - has sus on Chillin, pretty good reasons, but he let Chillin fully deflect all that pressure. • None: “why is he still alive” loooool. Started with some weak suspicions and noob play, but actually picked up with some decent reads on Chillin towards the midgame. Largely a quiet player however, and hard to gauge based on this game (wasn’t critical in securing the win).

I glanced at the roles briefly before keeping this video on in the background, so not only did I not know Chillin was mafia, but I accidentally ruled out Chillin as mafia altogether because I misread it, I guess. Even then, his defense of Pricent immediately raised flags for me. When he starts going off about how (not a direct quote but you get the idea) "yeah, he was acting a little weird, but I just FEEL like he's town" it really feels like he's telegraphing that he knows Pricent isn't mafia, which he knows because he's mafia. I guess he could've also been the cop trying to steer the conversation away from someone he checked as town, but that wasn't my instinct. I thought to myself that if I didn't already know he wasn't mafia, I'd say he was mafia. Turns out I just read the screen wrong before and he actually was. Sometimes mafia are just too honest and too passive. Like they don't want to go after innocents sometimes because they're afraid of being suspicious, and they end up being even more suspicious as a result. Trying to be too meta. Gotta throw out some false suspicions.

Twitch chat was so cringe by calling Pricent dumb; Pricent was motioning to kill Aiden originally in order to bait out potential mafia members by taking note on who voted. It was to get as much information as he could on the first day, since no one has anything to go off of at that point in the game, and it was the only way he could gather any meaningful information at all.

I agree that it's a good play to bait out at least 1 or 2 mafia members, but Pricent didn't build on his play making not so useful. If he used his info to then question/press the people that voted him while keeping track of their sus behavior it could've maybe led to west being voted out even earlier. Good play, not the best execution and town/hbox did a good job of getting rid of mafia without using the play. Twitch chat will be twitch chat tho

The problem is that his argument was that "there's no reason to vote day 1 if you're town" when first of all that's not necessarily true, it's worth a gamble to potentially lower mafia's kill power, but also the fact that his argument hinged on him not being voted off and he could have easily been voted off just for being a shitty town because that's what it seemed like to everyone.

What was dumb is that he said that Mafia members usually vote to kill someone day1 (which is not true, most Mafias don't vote in order to not seem suspicious) and that he said there's no reason for town members to vote someone off on day1 (which also isn't true, since it's their only option to kill mafia, they should ALWAYS vote someone off)
