Hollow, if you do the Vito side mission “I need a favor” Vito believes Joe was killed and he sends Lincoln after the people he thinks are responsible. As we know that isn’t true. If they did Mafia 4 it could explain what exactly happened to Joe and who was killed in his place for Joe to be allowed to live. So there is plenty of story they could do with Joe in between Mafia 2 and Mafia 3.

Mafia 4 should pick up as joe and this is what I think should happen After working for Leo galante for years, when joe saw Lincoln, he remembers that’s his son so he stays in new Bordeaux and try’s to find him after the encounter but during that he runs into Vito and works for him but since he leave leo galante, Leo try’s to find and kill joe but him Vito and Lincoln team up to take him down and create their own family with Vito being the don. The rest can be a lot of things but there needs to be death of character for added emotion.
