Mafia Definitive Edition is a action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games. Mafia 1 Remake is set within a redesigned version of the fictional city of Lost Heaven which is based on Chicago in the 1930s, and follows the rise and fall of taxi driver turned Tommy Angelo. Mafia: Definitive Edition is a faithful, expanded remake inspired by the iconic original game, now with gorgeous 4K visuals and enhanced gameplay. Conceived as a full remake of the original, Mafia Definitive Edition was built from the ground up with new assets and an expanded story, although missions and arcs from the original game are carried over.

This comment on the original game would make more sense. I remember the original game from 2002 those details and graphics were insane in that time. They felt better than Unreal 5 these days. The game was limited to 30FPS because 90% of PCs couldnt handle thet thing. 3CDs in 2002 was insane! Not saying this is a bad remake but not as impressive as the original one.

In the original game, Don's distrust of Tommy and Paulie seemed so sudden and made no real sense and seemed it came out of nowhere. In this version, we get to see it all building up right from their first meeting. Tommy is warned about loyalty over and over again all throughout the game. In the original, only time he was warned was in the car by Frank.

Don't diss on the og boy... You were probably born in the 2000s still a baby when the og came out... The og captured the atmosphere, vibe, feel of the 30s... The cars were slow just like real 1930s cars... The character models looked like the don from goodfellas, paulie from sopranos, sonny from a bronx tale... They legit felt like and looked like people from the 1930s even the way they talked... Polite and no cuss words like people in the 1930s... Cussing became more common in the 60s during and after nam. The shooting man it felt so immersive and you're legit scared cuz the difficulty level of the og was higher you legit felt the high risk, high stakes, danger feeling like you were in a real shootout cuz you could get wasted at any time... And the story felt like a classic 50s, 60s or 70s movie like godfather. This new game feels like one of those over the top, cheesy, corny modern cringe, try- too- hard- to- be- a- gangster- movie that takes itself too seriously.

I wouldn't say it's up there with them, having played all of these. The story is too.. typical, although still good. It feels like a standard GTA plotline. Move up -> Get good with boss -> Do his missions -> One of his goons gets jealous -> Betrayal -> Revenge. The other titles you mentioned (even GTA-5, though that's a stretch even I'd agree) are more diverse both in terms of storyline and gameplay.

The character of Sarah is one of the best ever females in gaming imo. She is the perfect example of a strong female in a game, not the usual, badly-written, unsubtle, in-your-face 'strong', but an actual strong woman. One who is shown to be strong, and not given lines of dialogue explaining why she is strong.

i'm just about to as soon as it downloads fully, i got the entire remastered trilogy on sale for only 23 bucks on a steam sale, i never played this game when it came to the classic or even this version, but the price being right and the crazy amount of positive reviews helped me make the right decision. it's very rare that i purchase games anymore since i'm usually playing something else that is addictive that i thirst very rarely for something new, but this video also helped in making the decision as i needed to see what kind of gameplay i was in for.

@@Anxiety_Asylum i do find it odd they created an entire open world map to play this title, but you can't really play it like an open world type of game, there are no activities outside the main plot from what i can tell so far, which means all of that map is potentially and mostly wasted, i get that it's a remaster of an older game, but it plays like a copy and paste of assets outside the graphics used in how you play it. again, the game is visually impressive and the story is really good, but outside of this the game isn't really that fun, and i got to be honest, even though the story is good, it doesn't really grip me all that much, i'm getting to the point where i'm thinking of moving onto the next title because i don't like the linear gameplay loop, not saying linear is bad, but because it's an open world game that only focuses on the linear story makes it not so appealing for me personally. i mean even open world games have a linear story, but they at the very least provide side missions with alternate activities endings depending on where you go in the story and other fun things you can do, this is just a playable movie at best, i could watch the rest on youtube and be satisfied over playing the rest myself. anyway, hopefully the second game is better, that was apart of the trilogy i purchased, and if that's more of the same, than hopefully the last game offers something good, because if it doesn't i guess it's just one giant movie in the form of a game.

I love how the creator chooses the muscle car from Mafia 3 whenever he can. Imagine your Paulie in Chinatown in the beginning of the old gas station mission, and then Tommy just rolls up in this absolute beast of car easily doing triple digit speed when most cars of the period only maxed out at 60.

That “Sarah” episode prolly flew over a lot of people’s head but Luigi’s arrangement to finally hand his daughter to Tommy and Sarah being a smart ass through and through showed a lot of things: 1- You don’t need sweet pick up lines to attract a lady, your composure will always do the work for you (but it also can only get you so far. So adding some game to your arsenal will serve you well to please her ears). 2- Whether you know it or not, there’s always someone eyeing you and the day they get the chance, they will take it! 3- If a woman wants you, her world will have all kinds of problems just so she can enjoy your presence.

That is not true. The orginal Mafia game out for PS2 and XBOX in 2004. Till then the orginal was only playable for the pc. So it was maximum 19 years.

They changed the game from it was released on the PC 15+ years ago. When the thugs assault Sarah, Salieri says he wants you to put them in wheelchairs so the little kids will point and laugh at them. The bit about the kids was cut from this version. Sam never asks you to spare Michelle. This is something Tommy does by himself and Sam only finds out later (and kills Michelle and chides you as a traitor for not following orders). Frank doesn't escape on a plane. He escapes on a zeppelin. When you break into the prosecutor's house, it's possible to stealth the entire mission. The safe has no alarm. You can break into the safe silently, steal the contents, and then through some deft manoeuvring steal the prosecutor's car when he comes home with his goons and enters his home. This version forces you to have a shoot out and break stealth. When you steal the booze from the car park, you drive the booze truck yourself whilst being chased by goons. The radio plays a retro song "You run your mouth and I'll run my business, brother". A lot of retro tunes missing from this game. Whenever you drive into Chinatown you hear a song about Chinatown on the radio which was removed as well Sergi Morello doesn't burn to death. You fight him in the docks and put a bullet literally in his forehead. With the cigar mission, Salieri doesn't tell you anything about the cigars. Paulie and Tommy discover diamond hidden in the cigar crates (I.e. there are no drugs). Because Salieri made Tommy and Paulie risk their lives for diamonds without telling them, they decide to do the bank job in secret. At no time in the original game is it ever suggested that Salieri peddled drugs (e.g. this game has Sam making a comment about drug money enabling the buying up of a lot of muscle). In the original Tommy criticises Sam for not being able to think for himself and blindly following Salieri's orders. At the end, Tommy dies in front of his property with his gardening hose. No big speeches about family beforehand or family members rushing to his side as he dies. Salieri is still a jerk in both versions. He gets all the bank money and has Tommy + Paulie killed on a "loyalty" excuse to cover the tracks of where his big bag of money came from. ALSO: Pretty sure that "Samson Drifter" is not period authentic and is a new addition to the game. Looks like something from the 60's. Cars like that didn't exist in the 30's and none of the other cars in the game look anything like it. Not even the race car you steal looks anything like it. I think it breaks the immersion of the game and is lame.

Самое классное прохождение этой игры Mafia: Definitive edition, сюжет очень классный) В начале игры, напоминало первой и второй части про сюжет этой франшизы, даже когда смотришь в начале тот видеоролик сразу вспоминается те моменты) Возможно, что есть в третьей части мафии, хоть я в её рекдо смотрел прохождение. И, вся трилогия про крестного отца просто легендарные фильмы/франшиза)))

Apart from obvious graphics upgrade, tbe dialogues are much better crafted in the remaster. The opening dialogue now makes much more sense and there are much more!
