The stupidest statement I have ever heard was when a guy said to me that he couldn't be racist because he was black. That is a racist statement itself. For the record I am a white liberal married to a black liberal woman. We have three kids we raised. I only mentioned race at all to point out that I have had racism directly impact my life. I have been called a "traitor to my race". I have been called a "monkey lover". I have also more crudely been referred to as something where monkey was replaced with the "n" word. I don't need that ill-informed racist black man telling me what racism is. I have had to stand there and hear a grown-ass woman tell me to keep my little monkey away from her child.
