"Georgia Clark, a veteran high school English teacher in Fort Worth, had an urgent request for President Trump: She needed help pulling undocumented immigrants from her school.
“Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico,” Clark wrote May 17 on her now-deleted Twitter account, @Rebecca1939, in tweets that led to her termination.
“Anything you can do to remove the illegals from Fort Worth would be greatly appreciated,” she wrote in another tweet.
Clark was careful in her approach, she believed, and told the president she needed guarantees her identity would be protected when action was taken. “Texas will not protect whistle blowers. The Mexicans refuse to honor our flag,” she wrote."

I taught first graders in El Paso years ago. I had 28 babies who spoke no English, I spoke no Spanish and didn't know the regulations at that time, that speaking Spanish was not allowed. I was young and innocent so I did my best to speak their language and they tried, bless their little hearts to speak some English and learn to read Tip and Mitten in English. I never knew , nor did I care, whether they were legal or illegal, they were my students. I started teaching 6th grade the year before and found the children very respectful, and appreciative. Again, I never knew whether they were legal or illegal. It didn't matter. it was my job to help educate them.

Just because he has not mastered the English language, either verbal or written, he still believes that English should be spoken by all. He was surprised that in England, the speak english, commenting that it was very decent of them to learn this language prior to his visit. All praises to our dear leader, and he will soon come out with his own book he expects everyone to read. The irony of a Texan complaining about illegal Mexicans is so so sweet. Her ancestors were illegal immigrants who refused to learn Spanish and honor the Mexican flag. They went further and declared independence from Mexico. The Alamo is a symbol of illegals taking over.

The reality of Texas's history is more complicated than this actually. Mexico had tremendous difficulty trying to get any of their large Mestizo population in the south in and around Mesoamerica to settle north of the Rio Grande, in Nuevo Mexico (this included Arizona at the time) and Alta California (hence why there is a Baja California). As a result, they encouraged Anglo settlement from the U.S. to Texas to develop the region, but expected them to become Mexican citizens and remain loyal to Mexico. Mexico failed to understand the U.S. ambition to seize the lands they couldn't properly develop themselves, and they also failed to recognize that the Mestizos who actually did reside in Texas, the Tejanos, were not necessarily loyal to Mexico either, hence why Tejanos played a major role in Texas's independence. Too bad this bigoted moron of a teacher (I pray she wasn't a history teacher) didn't recognize this fact with the Tejanos.

@@Wasserkaktus I am using the oversimplified version of the historical facts to illustrate a point when it comes to the identity and demographics of what is today the US southwest. In 1824, there was really no Mexican identity. The country was divided and in a constant state of civil war. Anglo settlers and the US government took this into account. They never had the intention of Mexicanize or be loyal to their new country. That is why I point to that great irony with such florid language. It is a complex history just as history tends to be. The way it is taught in the American school system gives the impression that those lands magically became the US.

@@CanalOmega I don't know about that: When I studied American History in High School, there was a big chunk of it devoted to the Texas Revolution (I live in AZ). It's also true that during Mexican Independence, the lands the U.S. annexed from Mexico consisted of largely loyalists who wanted the land to remain part of Spain. Before the U.S. came in, Mexico did try to "plant" settlers from the south all over these northern lands, and this is where Texas came in. I think we both largely agree on history though, as well as Americans' ignorance and overall "primordial" belief that Texas was an empty land for the taking for Anglo settlers (nevermind the Natives), and that Mexicans were never in Texas. This simply is not true.

That is why I used the term "magical" as if the authors and the people who approved the books were hiding something. What I find to be a disturbing point that wasn't raised, is that, I believe in school, a childs privacy should be paramount. School should be as confidential as a therapist would be for children. School board: "Alright then; show us your papers." And to play Devils's advocate, I think the basis of her appeal is that she did not, at least directly, contact immigration authorities. I'm absolutely mortified about this yes I'm white & British but I had a somewhat similar situation with my Year 6 teacher who discriminated against me because I had/have issues learning I was 10 and she was 60 and she was responsible for my disruptive behaviour she said no-one will want me again.
