Another crazy live Mage Knight challenge in the books! :) This one gets really math-y at the end, cause the margin between success/failure is SUPER tight. Look out for a live Gaia at 3pm EST next week! (6/16) Happy Gaming! Greg

🤣 Well, I went back to make sure you’re “too many crystals” theory was wrong, but I wouldn’t be shocked if there was something else. Of course, finding out about it might send me into a spiraling despair from which I may never return…but that’s fine. It’ll be fine… 🤪

14:00 it is so weird to look back at this comment/discussion, since this time I have really started pushing up the city levels I am playing against... shows you how much of a skill game this is, if you keep honing it and practicing with cards, you can pull of some insane feats.

Oh yeah - it’s just got amazing depths as a skill game. 🙂

Heroes are great with a once per turn influence skill
@SoloPlaythroughs3 жыл бұрын
I see that. At the same time, generally speaking, by the time I’m able to recruit Heroes I usually am looking for Attack and/or Block instead of Influence. But, if you can get them in the 2nd Night or early in the 3rd Day, they can be really great. Still hate that Influence surcharge for sieges though.

@@SoloPlaythroughs playing with Norowas I had + 5 rep plus the 3/2 influence skill, which made hiring them very easy and then using them with the skill was easy as well

Yep - sometimes everything comes together with them! 🙂

Instinct is always better than improvisation
@SoloPlaythroughs3 жыл бұрын
Yeah - I’ve come around a bit on Instinct. But I still don’t think it’s functionally that much better than Improvisation. There are so many turns that you’ll use a card sideways anyway - Instinct is such a marginal upgrade.

@@SoloPlaythroughs I often find I need bursts of 2 and 4 rather than 3 and 5, and I hate being forced to discard a card, but yes in many cases they are the same.
@SoloPlaythroughs3 жыл бұрын
Yeah - I can see that. Instinct does give you a bit more flexibility when you don’t need the full amount of Improvisation. 🙂

At the upper keep, hand limit is +1, so 7 cards not 6.

Nice catch! Thanks, Dan.

Great game as always. You overcame the lack of monasteries with some great spell and advanced action selections. That final battle was epic. And I need to find that BGG city “cheat sheet”. Like you, my eyes have trouble with which color is which! Look forward to Gaia next week and more TMB in the future! Great job!

Thanks for the kind words, Bryan! As for the cheat sheet, check out the comment from Stephen on this video - he links to the file on BGG. 🙂

My "Shield Bash" Facebook thread got a mention! You are right, it is a brain-burner of a card...
