Mage Knight Solo: Underground Monster Hunting with Arythea! (Dungeon Lords)

Happy to present Arythea's quest to be Lord of the Dungeons! :) Note that in set up, I messed up by taking out one of the countryside tiles that has a printed Dungeon on it, but I address this mid-stream. Thanks for the playthroughs as always! Good to see a different scenario type! Could you share the solo ruleset used, I could only find the 2-4 player version in the rules.

You’re welcome, Q! For solo, you should use 7 countryside tiles and 1 core non-city tile (plus the Blue City tile). And just follow the rest of the rules for the scenario as stated in the Rulebook, such as being sure to include all of the countryside tiles with printed dungeons on them in your terrain deck.

Yeah - Dungeon Lords is pretty fun. Mines Liberation is also fun, but definitely way harder than Dungeon Lords, even at the recommended settings. :)

1:08:14 just to point this out, even though it probably did not make any difference in terms of this being a win or not - this dragon is ice resistant, so you would not have had enough siege/range to kill it...

So I had my alarm set for 5:30 this morning thinking I'd catch the livestream. But 5:30 in the morning, I'm not going to remember why I set my alarm for 5:30, but I do know what the snooze button is. I'm a student, I don't know what 5:30am is. So I missed the livestream, but what a great game. I said last time I like this scenario because it makes this game actually feel like a real deck builder.

Ha! Yeah - 5:30am is an abomination of a time that no one should voluntarily subject themselves to. :) And you're so right about the deckbuilding feel, as you are adding so many cards! It's wild to use spells and artifacts for +1 Move so much but a deck like the one I built yesterday just got so ridiculously strong. :)

I think after the second round (end of first night) I'd decided you'd won the game, and only repeated manticore encounters would cause an upset.

I forgot to mention too that it was immediately obvious you were using the new camera when the video started showing your table. There was a definite sharpness to it that I noticed compared to your recent Zeds video that I'm watching at the moment.

Oh yeah - thanks for mentioning it! Even streaming at 1080p, the quality of the camera provides a significant upgrade. I've been spending a lot of time this week playing with settings trying to maximize both video and audio quality, so hopefully there will be more and more noticeable improvements in the next couple months. :)

Never played this scenario due to the terran set up, but it looks very funny playing with Arythea. Yeah she is not afraid of tomb.....

@@SoloPlaythroughs Yep. Could be found that Arythea won other scenarios with normal troops, her mana flexibility, wound handling, and damage cards are good for battles. The Dungeon Lord is a bad scenario for Norowas or influence build (one of my buddy called money build) players who determined to win by units
