combat is three phases, in sequence : 1. Ranged - where you can attack with ranged attacks and using units with ranged attacks ( so you could use you unwounded crossbowmen;) 2. Blocking - where your enemies attack you and/or your units (so you could wound your crossbowmen here) 3. Attack - when you can attack the enemy with all types of attack and use the attacks of unwounded units. I hope this helps, Rick

Hi, all questions welcome! Rampaging enemies (ors/draconum) do not engage when you first move adjacent to them. They only engage when you move FROM a hex adjacent to them, TO ANOTHER hex adjacent to them. I hope this helps you sneak by a few more orcs! Best wishes, Rick

Love your videos Ricky! You have taught me so much about this great game,. I am about to pull out my Lost Legion expansion and I of course went to look for your playthroughs first. One question, around minute 20 you ended your previous turn on a blue crystal mine, shouldn't you have gotten a blue crystal at the start of your next turn? EDIT: Never mind, LOL! I should have kept watching!

Ricky, At the 21:19 mark you move into a adjacent space of the rampaging marauders and then kept moving, why? Did the "Rampaging Enemies" rules not take effect?
@Dolemitesooner137 жыл бұрын
Hmm, maybe I have been playing this wrong. I guess its, a space adjacent to another space adjacent. You moved to an adjacent space to a none adjacent space. Good job! ha! One day I'll master this game....

Hi Ricky, thank you so much for these videos. I love them. We got the Mage Knight ultimate edition a couple months ago and have been playing 2 p co-op with the regular base game. I am now figuring out Lost Legion and got thoroughly confused (and overwhelmed) by the manual. I don't know what I would do without your step by step videos. Quick question, at minute 14 you use your mana search to re-roll the black die. You said that you don't have any spells so you don't need it anyway. But isn't a black die wild at night? You rolled it and got a blue, doesn't that rather limit the options you had? I have watched hours of your videos and this is the ONLY time I was like, what?? Anyway, you rock. Thank you so much again for helping us play this wonderful game.
@BoxofDelights4 жыл бұрын
hi.. black is not wild at night; it is not like gold during the day. Thank you fir your question and for watching the film. I hope you have many great adventures! good luck, R.R.

@@BoxofDelights So black is a garbage roll, unless you are using it in a spell?
@Heldermaior4 жыл бұрын
@@uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu61 hehe. That is such a new player question to ask :) Black is situational but is not trash. When I take down a city, black is the difference between an ok attack and a flawless victory. To me, it is one of the brilliant design features of Mage Knight. When you read the manual it says that Mage Knights are more powerful at night and at first, it doesn't seem like it. Once you know the game however... they really are.

Just as an optional play, in the expansion, you have the *option* of choosing to discard an extra spell card from the deck. It must be the bottom spell card. I don't remember if you also get this option with the advanced actions deck, though. Anyway, that can help the decks cycle through a bit faster in Solo play. Ricky did it correctly, but I just wanted to add in that optional rule (which could also be incorporated easily if you don't have the expansion).

Sorry for necroing :( but I really like your videos and good job on them. Just a quick clarification on this one, around 21:30 ish , when you moved adjacent to that rampaging orc tracker should've he engaged or attacked you? Or is that only during daytime? Thanks!
@Palessan692 жыл бұрын
answered this finally to Jayson Hartless. Needs to be one adjacent to one more adjacent to attack you.

if you wanted to attack with your crossbowmen you just wounded, is that possible when you wounded them in the same turn?
@goranstosic31065 жыл бұрын
How come at 7:19 you got one wound. Your unit got 1 wound because he got only 4 armor and enemy got 6 attack. So 2 attack got through, 2 attack against 2 armor is 0. How come you still got wound? I know i ask this in 2019 :)
@goranstosic31065 жыл бұрын
As with Units, even if the assigned damage is lower than your Armor value, your Hero must still take a Wound. OK i found it.

In your keep battle, you could've blocked with your unit, rage, and determination and used a powered intimidation to kill the defender. You'd trade determination and reputation for not wounding your unit, although that would cost you one more card to recruit the following turn
@afriendofafriend57668 жыл бұрын
When you assaulted the keep, couldn't you have used intimidate, powered it with red mana, and than been able to completely block? I get you healed afterwards, but it would have saved your rage card too?
@BoxofDelights8 жыл бұрын
hi Andrew, Intimidate doesn't offer any Block, so sideways it could give me just 1 Block on its own. Were you thinking of combining it with something else?

Hi GroovusX, it is nighttime. At night gold dice are "depleted" (like black dice during the day). So, you cannot use gold dice from the Source during the night. Mean huh?! Rick
@bunshichi27777 жыл бұрын
How many dices can you use in the source at the same time? In co-op, do you reroll the dice right after your turn is finished or after everyones turn is finished?
@BoxofDelights7 жыл бұрын
1 die; when you finish your turn you reroll and put it back, ready for the next person's turn.

So end of round can only be called at the begin of your turn? You can't just declare it after running out of cards during your turn?

Right; you do it instead of taking your turn. You may only declare end of round if your Deed deck is EMPTY at the START of your turn, and you forfeit your turn in doing so.

Looks to me like around 5:30 you mistook Intimidate for Threaten. You could have blocked with Rage, Determination and your Unit, then killed the enemy with powered Intimidate. It would have cost you -2 rep, so arguably not much better given you could heal 1 wound easily anyway. But it seems odd you never even considered it.
@BoxofDelights9 жыл бұрын
+Orion3T there are certainly always multiple ways to do things.... I didn't want to take the rep hit from Intimidate, so it was considered :) Sometimes I don't include every combo as the videos go on too long....... But yes, this might be an option others would prefer over the one I took. Such a good game.. .always choices!

Ricky Royal Yes I agree, it's awesome :D I play it with my son and also brought it away with me on a course to keep me out of trouble! Re-watching your play through to see if I had forgotten any rules. Great vids. :)

You dont benefit from revealed things from a old tile discrovered before this turn. So you have to many cards in the unit offer every turn. Keep It says you get 1 extra card for every keep you own(standing adjacent to atleast one of them), a monastery cannot be owned, only burned down and an extra advanced action card for each discovered monastery THIS turn :)
@BoxofDelights Жыл бұрын
Interesting query... Ive not heard this rules mistake before: you are the first person I know of that has gotten this wrong. So thanks for the query: it's not limited to this turn or this round even, it is effective the whole game. For example, for Monasteries, check the rules for setting up a new round (night or day) of the game, and you will see it says, "If there are any monasteries on the map, add one Advanced Action card to the Unit offer for each monastery that has not been burned." Likewise for Keeps, it is "..your Hand limit is increased by the number of keeps you own anywhere on the map." Hope this helps! best wishes, Ricky.

So u take wounds no matter how many armour u have? What if u had 3 armour on your character and a 2 attack against it. U still get a wound?

I honestly don't like that you can just take indecisive unit from the unit offer and leave an empty slot so that the enemy can't get any unit, I would have atleast have one of the other units in the unit offer moved into the slot, cause it feels like you can negate the enemy ability too easily
