@@GonkOrange They run the mage staff, which gives you instant 5 stack scorches. They just have to maintain it. Yes, winters chill mages are a bitch spec, they are here to buff your raid. Painful only if you aren't accepting of your role, dont play WC if you dont like that. Also, losing scorch isnt the end of the world if you have 0 fire mages. Your hunters and warlocks will be fine

Hey @KallTorak, iv been searching wowhead and icy veins but info is kinda fked up rn. Got some questions for your community and you. First of all, does frost & fire damage on our gear counts towards Frostfire bolt or is it the highest of the two that we take into consideration (e.g. do you use cold snap wand as a fire mage?) Iv seen guides that promote "Enlightenment' rune rather than 'Burnout' on chest runes.

I am not Kall, but I know the answer to some of your questions. First of all, the highest of your spell power on frost or fire counts, so if you can’t get pure spell power damage increase, chose one and go with that. It’s the total sum of either that counts. Second of all, burnout is best for firemage.

These sims are all set to a fight time of 1 minutes. That seems a bit low I think most of the fights in BWL will go over 1 minute, and once you start siming these past 1 minute the numbers change around a bit.

Right now, in our current gear, fights are over 2 minutes. These sims are for full bis. By the time your raid is in gear like this you will have 1 minute fights.

Quick question: wouldn't the Offhand from Sunken Temple (+23 SP Frost + 14 SP) be better for Arcane Spellfrost instead of the flat 32SP? Or am I missing something?

What about the Alterac Offhand with +34 Frost Damage and Ringos Boots + T2 Helmet to remain the 4P Set Bonus for Arcane/Frost.

@@janperius76 I was right with the Offhand. I tested it in sims, and it sims significantly higher. So, the combination of Stormwrath and Drakestone (which you can buy for Reals from the vendor in Gadgetzan) is currently BIS for the Arcane Spellfrost build. Ringos Boots + T2 Helm Sims lower so can't recommend.

Sorry but I have a question about the WC Mage. How come they put points into Fire when WC Mage won't be casting any fire spells? If they cast Frostfire Bolt I could see the point, but for them to be the Scroch guy is awful.

1. No other place to put those talents that give you any real value. 2. WC is ultimately a bitch spec. You are there for buffing the raid, not for yourself. Not a bad idea to have your WC mage maintain the scorch stacks after the fire mage stacks them, because he will have better dps. WC = there to buff the raid, not there for themself.

@@fredericgiroux7751 5 piece zg set increases only frostbolt and spellfrost bolt spell by 65%, not frostfire so that is why this spec casts spellfrost

@@dragoncraft993 they dont double up, so spellfrost bolt only gains 6% hit even if you gave frost and arcane ring runes on. So itll only help if you cast a spell that is solely arcane. But you're more often going to be using fire spells like living bomb on trash so better to use fire rune. Pretty minimal difference either way

Run fire or a hybrid of the WC/Arcane build. Go deep frost for barrier. Then the remaining points into arcane. Give yourself WC and follow same rotation

sadly in speedrunning u only bring 1 mage or max 2 so frost is not valuable. Both mages are fireweaving except Razorgore and Vael there u play arcane

for fireweave you have enlightenment chest rune instead of 15% crit, so is fireweave then the best of all 4 specs because you would have 15% more crit?

Not sure I understand your question. Fireweave is using enlightenment because it's simming better than burnout. The sims are in the description you can test it for yourself.

@@KallTorak oh ok thats very weird, got a shadow priest in my group always and im still below 70% mana most of the time. wasnt expacting to have more mana that the 10% dmg buff has good uptime.
