Thank you for the guide! Got it today. One thing that helped me was swapping out dom socket gear, which allowed using regular gems since dom sockets are worthless in the challenge. Going more haste/vers heavy also helped. Good luck all!

Don't forget that you can use the spell Freeze that is a ranged frost nova from your water elemental to help you kite the mobs! It helped me quite a bit to focus more dps on the mage

Some tips.. this whole fight ramps up the longer it goes on but they are phase specific. During phase one you want to push Karam to 33% while banking two charges of FoF and BR so you get some additional quick burst on Raest. When going from p3 (Karam chasing you for the second time) to the final phase, sometimes it's best to get one more Hand from Beyond and make sure the room is clear of all other adds, push Karam to 33% and this is where you; Time Warp, IV, Pot, Trinket (if applicable, I used the PvP badge). You will burn Raest really low here, and from this point you just repeat what you did in p3, while making sure you get your Water Ele to soak orbs, and this biggest tip I can give now is; make sure you keep the kiting circle as small as you can get (you can use the rune on the floor as a visual guidance) as you want your Blizzard and Orb to be hitting Raest as much as possible while kiting Karam, as this damage really adds up. Also save pet Nova for emergencies, but you can cast it once for free in the final phase on Karam as soon as he is out of purgatory to get a few more seconds nuke on Raest. Good luck all.

I actually did this yesterday without the pet so it is possible. Just saved my nova for p3 runes in case they were close to adds. Also was a pure shadowlands character with no special gear and didn't click a single cool down or potion until the final list burn phase. Honestly once you get used to the fight there is no challenge until the final phase due to how powerful freezing rain, flow, and frozen touch is. The only really useful tip I have is that in the last phase kiting thru the middle right under the boss to keep everything nice and grouped to ensure fast orb resets. If you kite the boss around the extreme edge of the room in the early phases it keeps the middle clear until you need it.

Do you use a camera add on? I feel your camera is much more zoomed than mine as mine tends to snap back to right behind my character if i turn :(

A couple things I did that helped me a lot: - Played really close to Raest... this lets you keep him in your blizzards and make sure that all of your orbs are doing into him. - Ran a Swift Hand of Justice as my second trinket - this let me completely ignore ice barrier and mirror images. Not having to think about your health is great when you're on a spec you haven't played very much, and it may even be a dps gain from the extra GCDs you gain. After I made these adjustments, I killed it in two pulls. Going into phase 3, Raest was 32%, which was significantly lower than my previous pulls. Hope this helps!

Try the food Fried Bonefish. It gives you a speed boost every time an add dies. I found it helped a lot. Also, she mentions to possibly lust at the start of phase 2, but you most definitely should along with Icy Veins/pot. Once I ate that food and went with that damage strat, killed it 5 pulls later. I'm doing this challenge today and it's crazy that one flurry + 2 ice lances takes a hand down to like 25% hp in your video. I'm lucky if that gets it to 70% now, it feels almost impossible with how much time is spent just keeping up with the hand spawns.

@@Yaahzy1 if you're having trouble and just need the challenge beaten for the mount, I recommend giving it a go on marksman hunter instead. I swapped over and got it in 3 attempts even though I suck at MM. Their burst is perfect for hands.

I can't in the last phase the hand spawn in one after another. I kill one them an other one comes in. I killed in on my warlock during the expansion the hands did not spawn in so often

anyone else having the issue that your pet is moving like its blind? also the dude im kiting sometimes goes haywire. seemingly invissible walls for npc movement everywhere. my pet just sometimes moves back and forth over and over instead of going to the orb i petmoved it to

on death 131 and i get raest down to 35% or so and karam catches me, walking thru my nova, cone, blizzard, and orb, help. that movement speed buff is WAY overturned

Got it on 3rd try, while I struggled with 50+ on my shadow priest. Some things are just not balanced as they should.

Seems like mage is the way to go for this challange, it's borderline Impossible on my shadow priest which is really sad since I cleared all 3 spec challanges on her with relative ease back in legion...i don't know what they've done to my class, but it feels like it outputs such low damage on general. I would say that frost has a lot of tools to deal with this challenge fairly straightforward!

You could pull a descend into madness attempt, if you get him consistently to the point where they are both active, have ps ready for Karam when you need to cover a rune, descend with a big stash of trash to generate sanity from helped me a lot

I just can't seem to do enough damage. The hands take me forever to get down. I am sitting at 28% crit and 23% haste. Any ideas?

Make sure you permanently have your orb & blizzard out. Also you can frost nova/pet freeze the mobs to allow yourself to cast frostbolt and get procs to dps the hands down

Frost is certainly the spec this challenge seems designed for - done frost/aff/mm, working on shadow and not tried balance... Frost by far felt the fastest and most straightforward, using this build. Biggest hiccups was pet pathing causing a missed rune, and occasional Karam pathing dodging my blizzard - AI really doesn't seem to like the edges of the floor design where Raest starts..

Just completed this challenge on my mage after about 20 attempts. One thing that actually helped me a lot was making a weakaura for my Blizzard/Frozen Orb that triggered a noise when they came off of cooldown so I could just keep throwing them out. With all the chaos I was able to focus better and just throw out my stuff without needing to check if its available.

How much gold did u spend totally on AH to pass this challenge?

I already had enchants on my gear which aren’t that expensive maybe a few gold each. Then I didn’t use consumables other than some pots which may have been a few thousand gold per 20 stack, then health pots are only a few gold too. It will always depend on your realm how much these things cost though!

Are you putting it in the middle of the rune? And are you in range? There’s an extra click to move the water ele unless you have a cursor macro

This guide is really good indeed. Although why suffer with this ? I mean you have to pay attention 4 things at once while in fire you just kill adds and dmg the boss. Also with time it becomes easier because under 30% you just cast Scorch and you are fine. This frost challenge sucks big time.

You can get a mount by completing all 7 challenges, I’d say frost is probably one of the better specs to handle this challenge 🥰 but of course if you only want transmog for mage you can try the other specs!

Oooooh you didn’t use alter time at all! Alter time is super useful for kiting or more importantly for healing! Also, focus raest that way you’re not having to click nameplates. Or use the both target frames.

You say "these items/consumables/enchants are not necessary to complete the challenge" but that doesn't seem to be the case? You don't show yourself doing it in unenchanted ilvl 50 gear without cheesing it with gear.
