To really get a sense of what Alissa White-Gluz is capable of, I strongly suggest a reaction to "Reason to Believe" by Arch Enemy. For personal interest, since I don't know it would make a good react - have a listen to "Swan Lake" by The Agonist in which she sings the famous bit acapella. Her versatility is a lot of fun and she is a desperately underrated vocalist.

In the studio people can appear to do things forever. Arch Enemy has up to 200 shows a year and heavy vocals for 60-90min non stop. That's stamina. Alissa's predecessor Angela Gossow is a heavy vocal pioneer. She was the first (lady) to make it big.
@christinaalgate48992 жыл бұрын
Hi Maggie Alissa is a fellow Canadian. She's vegan. She does do clean vocals. You should react to Alissa and Tarja and also Arch Enemy singing The Eagle Flies Alone. Floor growls also.

Alyssa can growl a whole set of songs when her band is in months of touring and she can still manage it. Not only her but all the growlers in metal bands does that. It's a matter of how they take care of their voice.
@HiTekCowboy2 жыл бұрын
this version is great, but i still prefer the lead singer especially his live performances. his (spoiler?) opera/classical training really makes their sounds unique. 'alive and dead' is my current favorite which is hard to type because almost all of their songs are on my main playlist.

I agree, Maggie needs to hear (and maybe react to) the original version. I like both versions equally. :)

NITA STRAUSS - The Wolf You Feed ft. Alissa White-Gluz we all need a reaction to this song!
@rnowak852 жыл бұрын
One of my favorite songs! You should also checkout the original with their regular singer Atila for comparison but this is my favorite. The original is more sexually suggestive (check the lyrics) where this one is more about Alyssa's demon power over humans. Also love her sassy interaction with her tiefling acolytes and the hooky melodies. For more Alyssa check out her guest vocals with Kamelot. Sacrimony live with Elize Ryd of Amaranthe and Liar, Liar official music video (where she sings both clean and harsh, quite beautiful). Also checkout her regular gig with Arch Enemy (my favorite is House of Mirrors).

Alissa is truly awesome. There are some who will forever miss Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy, but IMO Alissa is killing it also. Back in 2012, she was guesting with Elize Ryd of Amaranthe on Kamelot's tour, where they were supporting Nightwish. Checkout "Sacrimony ft Alissa & Elize for that). Nightwish singer Anette was hospitalised with flu in Denver. Rather than cancel the show, Alissa and Elize split the set list between them (with a whole 2hrs to rehearse) with some crowd karaoke. For more on this see the documentary "Nightwish Denver Debacle". This is a fun song by Alissa. She is more brutal in Arch Enemy - especially live - but you see more diversity with her collab again with Kamelot "Liar Liar"

@gosiaszczesniak18672 жыл бұрын
If you want to hear her clean vocals, I would recomend Arch Enemy - Reason to Believe, or Kamelot - Liar Liar, to hear more of her growl, one of Arch Enemy's new singles, Deceiver, Deceiver or House of Mirrors would be perfect. By the way, from what I know, Alissa uses fry scream more often than false chord scream. The previous Arch Enemy vocalist, Angela Gossow, who by the way is one of the first women who were doing growls, was using fals chord scream. So even though Alissa is singing most of Angela's songs, she sounds different, because of her technique.

*You have to check out German vocalist Angela Gossow [former ARCH ENEMY lead vocalist and now band manager of ARCH ENEMY, AMARANTHE, Spiritual Beggars and Obscura]. 🎵She performed guest vocals on AMARANTHE's single version of "Do Or Die" (2020), and was featured in the song's music video, making it Gossow's first musical performance in 8 years. 🎵 I also highly recommend the cover versions of Russian lead vocalist ALEX [the] TERRIBLE and the songs of his band's [SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL] actual album "Kostolom". 🎵🎸🎹🥁📣🎵💿🔊✅🔥😈🔥Greetings & 🛡Stay safe.* 🛡

It's so funny to watch peoples reaction to Jin jner and everyone stops the video just before they get their little minds blown away. But to this reaction Powerwolf is really good. They are so very thematic in their presentation. I was first turn onto them when a contestant on the The Voice of Ukraine performed "We drink your Blood". It blew away the judges they had that look of "What the frell did I just listen to and watch ?" on their faces except for one of the judges. He looked like "meh" he wasn't that impressed but the two ladies well one of the ladies had the look of sheer terror on her face and the other one looked like she had a rake on her head. The other male judge I think he actually enjoyed the performance. \m/ \m/ Also go check Lacrimosa they are a Swiss Goth metal band, the lead singer also works with Mono Inc. from time to time. 😈

Your reaction was also fun, liked it! Now to Saarbrücken: ithe s is prounounced like a z, as in Led Zeppelin. The Saar is a river and Brücken csn be trabcelated as bridges. So it‘s bridges over the river Saar: Saarbrücken.

If you´re in for another clean/scream treat, try Arkona, it´s Russian pagan metal (but not all songs I would consider metal). Lead singer Masha Scream doesn´t bear her name without reason, but her cleans are awesome as well, especially the slow, deep ones. "Yarilo", "Vosstanie Roda", "Vo Slavu Velikim!", "Slav´sia Rus", "Liki Bessmertnykh Bogov" Blackbriar may also be worth a listen, although Zora´s voice may not be for everyone, but it´s amazing, in a haunting way. "I'd Rather Burn", "Until Eternity", "Mortal Remains", "Hear you scream", "Weakness and Lust" are just a few of their great songs. "Ready to Kill" is the only song that has some screams in it and is pretty awesome, but the others better represent their usual sound.
