Just started the video, but had to laugh when you were reading Bryan's wiki and discovered he performed 'Summer of 69'. Lol. My wife is American but we live in Canada. Last summer we travelled to PA to visit her family and Summer of 69 came on the radio while we were in the pool. None of them knew that Adams was Canadian, but he's made us proud for as long as I can remember. Gonna continue this now, hope you like it. Nobody has pipes like Bryan, and he's gonna show you.

He also wrote and sang "Have you ever really loved a woman." This was written for the movie Don Juan DeMarco that featured Marlon Brando and Faye Dunaway. There was also a young actor playing the title role who has since become a household name. The movie and soundtrack are worth investigating. Thank you for insights.

This is probably the absolute best power ballad ever. The simple but heartfelt lyrics. The many levels of emotion, from vocals, soft drums, and piano, to the buildup of guitars, harder drums, and organ. And then that line "I'd die for you", when he takes that last note up that half step while the organ fades...brutal. And if it's possible for a ballad to be a jam, the extended version here proves that it's not only possible, but factual. Bryan Adams is Canada's best import since maple syrup. And Rush.

The most likely reason you haven't heard him is because he is Canadian. His debut album "Cuts like a Knife" went multi platinum in Canada and Europe but never sold well in the US. His next album did well in states and produced several top 40 hits including a duet with the iconic Tina Turner on "Its Only Love". He has wrote a lot great songs and still has his great raspy voice. You may want to check out his performance of "All For Love" with Sting and Rod Stewart. The three of the best raspy voices in the business singing together.

This song came out when I was on a family cross-country vacation, 11 years old, riding across the USA in my dad's van, and EVERY station was playing it. Country, rock, didn't matter. My sisters and I fell in love with it so immediately, we'd flip the car radio until we found a channel playing it. It was literally EVERYWHERE for months, until sadly people got sick of it. I still loved it, though. I had recently begun to take piano lessons, and this was the first modern rock I learned on piano. Hitting those piano pickup notes sent my friends into a wild craze. His voice was so unique, his music so passionate, and his talent shined across the radio waves. It's truly a shame that he somehow fell into obscurity when he was so immensely popular.

from 83-91 Adams was one of the WORLD'S biggest stars. He shot into international stardom quickly. He just kept coming up with quick back porch rock songs the likes of Mellencamp, and then turn around and do the biggest ballads of the year. He wrote the theme to many box office hits in the 80s as well. (movie themes)

This is my wife's favorite song. I sing it to her when we are on cruise ships, on karaoke night. The last time, it was on our anniversary and I was wearing my kilt (it was elegant night). I finished up the song kneeling in front of her, holding her hand. After the last note, I kissed her and told her I loved her. There were about 200 people there. The mc said,"Wayne, all the ladies are crying. They love you and their men hate you, now".

I saw Bryan in Philly back in 1983. This song wasn't part of his repertoire yet as he was just starting out. I think Cuts Like a Knife was his only known single at the time. I felt bad as people were throwing toilet paper at him. To put it into perspective, it was a 5-band show headlined by Journey. Bryan was the opener followed by the Tubes (niche band with a short life span), John Cougar Mellancamp who had a huge following by then, Sammy Hagar who later became the headman for Van Halen after the departure of on of the greatest rock showmen ever (David Lee Roth) and finally Journey. In all, about 7-8 hours of music followed by an insane fireworks display. I have to say, one thing we had in Philly were great all-day events when it came to music in the '80s & '90s. Every year there'd be at least one or two day-long shows with 4-6 bands. Back to original idea, i always felt Bryan was given a bad hand from music listeners. Was he rock? Was he pop? He was kind of in between and that can lend to many people not liking your music. Had he committed to something early on, I think he'd have gotten better responses from the crowds.

The entire reckless album is a great album. One other song you may want to check out is Run to you on the Bryan Adams Reckless Album besides summer of 69 one of my favorites on the album

His voice reminds me of Don Henley, from the Eagles.

Love this song in fact he's never had a bad track and a great life act just as a matter of interest a lot of his earlier music was produced by mutt lange who descoverd Shania twain co writing and producing many of her early songs they latter divorced which deverstated her and the hurt has featured in many of her songs 🎸🎸🤟🤟
