One thing I absolutely love about Mr May is his sheer joy at catching absolutely anything swimming, so many anglers these days are so focused on the biggest and best and have lost that joy of spending a day catching the little guys just for fun, never change Andy your an absolute legend mate. As always another brilliant video from the winning ways team. Thanks guys.

I used to in hard winter use a magwise feeder and cut a piece of foam to fit feeder.....would soak it in corn steep/chopped worm.... fished with corn/worm ...still catching today 😊

Also. I think the magwise stuff. is actually...pronounced and spelt as 'Mogwai's'... in honour of the great Scottish band Mogwai. ( touring In FEB)

Would you add liquid flavouring's to the maggot feeder in winter, squeeze into the holes or dip in a glug?
@winningwaysbasicsАй бұрын
Not really something Andy does but if it gives you more confidence then why not. But probably just unneeded expense and faff

Sod the man made puddles...bollocks to that. But. I had to put some input in. The maggot feeder on proper waters like the Soar, Trent, Nene, Derwent, Erewash, upper Severn. is top bollocks that's my area of 60 mins from home. can even get up Sheffield and go on the Dove... But. it needs some patience. These are places where you need to be as soon as the bloody weather changes and we get some sun and wind.. Trout, Grayling, Bream ( fighter harder than puddle carp), Chub! Barbel!!! . Get on the Rivers. Obviously listen to Andy!!!! His timings are cool. You have to keep the bait going in. I'll batter him on a river though.... and Jamie!!....pfff. No POLES... as in Fishing gear, not... And, it's about having fun, but, working out stuff, I can't stand 90% of the stuff you show, but you Andy and Jamie are really, really excellent stuff, It's stupid but... yeah its...yeah, can't explain. It'll come one day, catch a fish on a bamboo rod, some dodgy hessian string and a safety pin Like Robinson crusoe or having to survive from a 1975 survival kit, it will...... it'll come... stupid as f*ck. but they'll have a go. And it's enjoyable, pathetic rubbish...yet...The pair of them are like 'Top gear'..complete and utter bollocks in their little competitions, nothing like what they offer will be remotely involved with anything regarding the real World. But, just in case. These two clowns will make sure.... Love ya both.

I'm a newbie and I have a question: if I change the bait constantly like that, is it possible that there are too many magots in the bait nest?
@dannyboy7715Ай бұрын
Do you rekon most of the maggots leave the feeder by water pressure when feeder hits the water and falls through the water column?
@winningwaysbasicsАй бұрын
Bit of both, you will get some falling through the water column which is why the longer hooklength can be really good.
@pleasantville4529Ай бұрын
You can control (to an extent), the amount of maggots that leave the feeder before it reaches the bottom, by packing the feeder. This prevents the maggots from escaping too quickly. By varying the amount you put in, you can control how quickly they release.
@stuumpleby7492Ай бұрын
Why are longer hook lengths better because the hook will be further away from the feed or am I looking at it all wrong?
@winningwaysbasicsАй бұрын
A lot of fish you will catch on the drop, with maggots falling through the water - so longer hooklengths will help with this 💪🏻
