I had NO IDEA the complexity of caring for sheep. Very impressive how you treat each individual animal and assure it recovers from infestations and injury.

I agree, I didn't know there was such a machine....a lamb assembly line, that was cute. They look like they are going on a ride....you can almost hear them saying, "WEE, here we go!!!" LOL

Awe Cammy never need to apologize, your videos are always so upbeat honest and wholehearted. Of course you must feel pressure, I often wonder how you keep smiling sometimes. I think you all do such a great job even on the hardest days! BUT I hate maggots I was cringing lol

Having had skin allergies all my life, I feel so bad for it! Wow! Lizzie bringing the wheel and taking two of y’all to to put it on!! And wee Jock helping to herd the sheep!! Clammy the most successful KZbinrs are the ones that where the people show us everyday life and how they deal with it. I love your farming videos I don’t need special videos. So far I like your channel and I’ve been here from the first. Sandy sent me to your channel. I like it because it’s natural struggles and REAL life farming

Love to see the dogs protecting your son. Weaving back and forth, almost trying to remain unseen, but weaving a path of safety for your son as he walks along with the herd.

Fly strike must almost drive them crazy. It would be like having ants stuck in our clothing and being able to get our clothes off. Cammy you are awesome and always bring good content. You do NOT disappoint me and I always look forward to your videos. I see how extremely hard you, Lizzy and your team work and I am excited when I see your videos. I never think you are letting me down with any of your videos, I really appreciate you make the time to get a video out. Hope your season goes well. Fly strike is agony and evil. So nearly lost a stalwart ewe to it. Tee tree oil is good but the whole fleece needs to come off ASAP. Sheep are completely defenseless against such insidious parasites. It presents as the tip of an iceberg, just like this.

Got a good looking flock of sheep. I'm in the states and know nothing of sheep. But am use to farming with cattle and goats. Those ewes are in good hands with you caring for them. Keep up the good work

I haven't seen these videos before and just checked the comment to see if there were any criticisms from the armchair experts who think that this is neglect. It's not. It's just what happens and is hard to detect in the early stages, especially in a large flock. I admire this man's kind and caring attitude to his sheep. Believe me, they aren't all like that.

I think most of us are grateful to see what you are able to show us. You flock and your work have to come first. And you need time to take care if yourself and your family as well. You don't do anyone or any critter any good if you get down or behind. Your videos are always interesting.

The camera work while twidling with bits on the campari is fantastic. I would like to see what you do with the contaminated fly-struck shaved off wool so the maggots/flies don't spread.

I’m dogsitting an Australian Shepard mix and just found your channel. I put this video on and she immediately reacted lol I got to work with a bunch of tunis sheep a couple summers ago. I miss working with them. I’m jealous! I want to work on a farm! Lol I’ll be watching your channel and living vicariously through you

I am glad your channel popped up today - watching a day in the life of a sheep rancher was fascinating. I grew up in Colorado, in the western US, among cattle ranches. - running sheep is like, half-size ranching.

Never apologize. You haVe a growing family now. Taking care of sheep is a LOT of work. I often wonder what they did years ago with animals, before nutrients, electric sheers, and antibiotics. How did they worm them. It makes me shudder to think about it. Take care of yourself and family

do you record issues like fly-strike and lameness etc in your 'flock watch' so you can prep your 'to do' calendar for next year to ease the scheduling of maintenance that needs to be done during your shearing time? Are you finding the 'flock watch' as useful as you had hoped?

You can find them almost anywhere - .ve seen them on the heads of tups where they have been fighting and made themselves bleed. In and on their feet are commonplace locations as well. Dan

@@hectorskmetija3015 Yes they will eat into any soft tissue and totally consume it so skin, fat, muscle tissue etc is food to a maggot whether the sheep is dead or alive. Once treated damaged areas will heal in most cases but only with scar tissue. This is why it is important for the shepherd to identify and take quick action to kill off the maggots asap - they are one of nature's organisms designed to "clean up" dead creatures!

I wish they would give them.pain medication to help them deal with the trauma. I would donate to help them! I feel so sorry for him. Animals are so much stronger than humans, they suffer in silence for months, even years!

A sheep's life is horrific to me. Chased around & scared by dogs, being flipped around as if they don't feel pain... The ewes separated from their lambs.😕

Fascinating learning about farming work and sheep husbandry. Fly strike is a really unpleasant distressing condition for all concerned. I retire in 2 years time and would like to do some voluntary work on my local farm if the farmer allows/wants any help, I would enjoy the totally different work change even though I don’t eat meat lol.
